State of the art smart watch.

After reading and checking on multiple facts of great features of different lines of Garmin smart watch, I decided to take it one step and buy the watch.

Seems great, not perfect for my usage though

I received this watch as a gift. I'm primarily a runner and backcountry skiier, with zero diving experience. It seems great but not perfect for my uses. To summarize:
Pros: touch screen is great, mapping features and apps seem to be a big step-up from the forerunner 255 I had been using. Screen is crisp and bright in most conditions.
Cons: the weight and fit cause some rubbing on my wrist during running. Battery life seems to be roughly the same or worse than the Forerunner 255, and the screen sometimes fails to wake up on gesture detection (minor nit).
Ultimately, its great, but for very long runs or backcountry adventures It isn't ideal. I think if I were a diver, I would appreciate this watch much more.

I should have gotten the 51mm not the 42.

I got them 43mm Mk3 because I have small wrists and wearing big watches looks weird, but I regret not having the backup dive light, and I have heard the battery lasts longer, that is my biggest complaint the watch advertises a battery life up to 10 day, the longest i have gotten out of it is 4 days. I am an active guy but not that active, if someone responds with you have to turn off fhe back ground feature, that is stupid why buy a tech heavy watch and not use the tech. Garmin should just manage expectation and say 4day battery life.

Thanks for the comment! If you have always-on mode enabled for the backlight, the battery expectation is 4 days, which is stated in the specs of the product page. However, if you don't have that feature enabled and you're only getting 4 days, there could be a variety of factors contributing to the battery drain, including Connect IQ app use, Pulse Ox use, GPS use, or outdated software. The following FAQ discusses these and more in detail:

If you're still needing help after that, I recommend calling Garmin Support at 800-800-1020 to speak with an associate about these concerns.
