After using it once, the plastic lid no longer closes properly- meaning I cannot put food in the inner container to transport my meal back and forth because the food would all spill out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I work construction in the northeast, where winters are cold. This is great for heating leftevers. Way better than a cold sandwich or buying from the lunch truck. I just plug into my inverter (it’s not 12v) 30 min. to an hour ahead and have to blow on almost every bite.

I am so in love with this. I needed this years ago. I have never been a fan of microwaves. Because of this wonderful warmer I don't have to worry about getting my food too hot or not hot enough with microwave. And I love that it will wait for me. I can't tell you how many times I have heated my lunch up in microwave and then get busy at work and came back it would be rubbery and cold! Thank the heavens those days are over! I am ordering at least 3 or 4 more to give as gifts and for different dips on game days. I am ordering extra inserts so I can keep them filled in freezer and pull them out to go to work. I work really early and long hours, so I don't have time to prep meals. I see endless possibilities!

I purchased ten of the lunch crocks for gifts and I kept three for my immediate family. Two out of the three I kept have quit working. This one worked twice and on the third time it would not heat up.

Excellent Product

I purchased this product last year for my boyfriend for x-mas. He said what am I going to use this for. Well this year he told me he didn't want any more cold cuts for lunch. I said yikes i am in trouble. So I took out the crock pot that was purchased last year for xmas and made him lunch with it. Well it was a hit. Even the guys that he works with were impressed that he was eating hot food. Two of them ended up purchasing it as well. I even purchased 3 more inserts and I am looking to purchase another 2 - one for me for work and the other as a holiday grab bag for the office party. I think it will go over well. I wish that there was a rectangular or oval one a little bit bigger than this one to be able to separate food side by side. Since I have been using this, i have made everything from Egg Sanwiches to taco's and soup. Very happy with the purchase as well as my boyfriend and co-workers.

Great Hot Lunches

This item was in my grandson's school fund raiser. It was the only thing that wasn't just candy so I bought it and am I glad I did! It is so easy to have a delicious hot lunch ready whenever I am. I put left over food in it from the evening before--that makes dinner clean up easier, and then put it in the fridge. The next day I plug it in on my desk at work and I have a hot meal ready whenever I can grab a moment to eat. My job makes a set lunch time very difficult. The warmer warms the food to 165 degrees, which is hot but not so hot that you can't eat it. I can grab a bite or two, or eat the whole mean when I get the chance. Often people are coming to interupt my lunch time so I just put the lid on and wait for the next free minute to continue eating. This is the best lunch product I have ever had for hot lunches and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes warm lunches!

Lovin' It for my Work Lunches!

I bought this primarily for my work lunches. I've been using it for a couple of weeks, and I have used it on lunches with a good amount of liquid (baked bean dish) and more of a casserole type (chicken and rice). The sweet spot either way seems to be about 1.5 hours for ready-to-eat now food. Two hours or more will give you hot food. I leave the crockpot at work but take the inner container back and forth from home to work with the food in it. I do put it in a plastic bag for extra protection but have not had any problems yet with spillage or leakage.
