Does it work? Yes. It heats food well and works to that effect. But I'm uncertain about the true contents. The pot looks and feels like aluminum, not stainless steel. And the lid is like no "silicone" I've ever come into contact with; it looks and feels like plastic, or plasticized silicon. So, I'm skeptical and wary.

This Crock Pot Lunch Crock is a great little addition to the kitchen. It warms perfectly and keeps the food ready until ready to be eaten. I keep the crock pot at my desk at work and just take the insert home to wash and reuse. Definitely a keeper!

This is GREAT!!! Use for work lunches. Plug in and is ready to go by lunch! No standing in line for microwave!! Holds a large portion, learned not to fill to max line to avoid food coma. Highly recommend!!

If I could give this 7 stars I would. I'm a teacher with a 30 minute lunch break, so having food hot and ready to go as soon as the bell rings gives me just a few extra minutes to sit and relax without having to wait and heat my food in the microwave! Food is always nice and hot, but never burned. Unfortunately I just lost the small lid and I'm freaking out trying to find a new one!

Leaky lid

I was so excited to get this as a gift. The first time I used it, it was fine. The second time I used it, I realized that the lid was not as tight fitting as I thought it should be, but I tried it out anyways. Well, I was right. My soup was everywhere. So while it does a great job heating my lunch, it was a mess everywhere.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter purchased a Crockpot lunch food warmer for me a couple years ago - and I absolutely love it! I use it every work day - soup/chowders - steak - casseroles - etc. I plug it in when I arrive and it provides a hot meal every time! Its such a good idea - great size and so convenient for leftovers!

Convenient, with a giant exception

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a gift and as others have commented, the lid to the insert is absolutely NOT leakproof. I keep my warmer in my office and just bring the liner / lid back and forth to work, and I have to rubber-band the lid on, then place the container in a plastic baggie to ensure there's no disastrous leak. Aside from this ridiculous design flaw, I do like the convenience of being able to heat (and even cook pasta and quinoa) throughout the morning so lunch is hot and ready as soon as I can take a break.
