Perfect Rice Cooker for Nine Years and Counting

This was my first Cuckoo almost nine years ago after owning a few popular Japanese brands. Not only is it beautiful, but it delivers on the cooked-rice quality and taste. Since then, I’ve purchased two more Cuckoos for both my wife’s sisters and they’re Cuckoo believers.
As long as you follow the manual, expect every rice kernel in the pot to be perfectly cooked and defined; no more mushy rice. Rice also keeps for several days without much yellowing.
In nine years of ownership, I’ve changed the pressure gasket twice. That’s all. Be sure to hand wash your rice in a rice strainer and ALWAYS use a plastic rice spatula. Enjoy and don’t forget to “Stir the rice!”

Great tasting rice and easy cleaning

I received the rice cooker as a wedding gift and I have been using it for near-daily rice cooking and occasional pressure-cooked dishes. There are a lot of buttons, which means a lot of features, but really easy to use. Always make tasting rice and it is large enough for my family of 4. Auto-cleaning (or self-sanitizing) is nice and if you prefer to do it yourself, you can easily take it apart for deep cleaning.

Can’t live without my Cuckoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My rice cooker was broken (probably my fault) and while we had to wait for the new one (same model: CHSS1009F) to arrive we had to use the old one. While it was good considering it's like 15 yrs old and still working, I could not wait. And oh boy! Cuckoo I don't know how you do it, but you do it! The rice is delicious!!! Can't believe it's the same rice I used. Now I know the difference, I don't think I could ever go back. You're worth every penny.
