Thisis a very inadequate machine.
The top does not stay down and sealed. I have to hold it in place securely to use the vacuum. That may be why the vacuum seal does not work very well.
I do not recommend this.

Not recommended at all

This was a replacement for the handheld version. It rarely works. I’ve given up trying to get it to work.

This company sucks now.

After a few years I have bought three different models and they all last perhaps 1 to 2 years with light use. This company has turned to crap! The first cheap one worked the best and longest.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The FoodSaver VS1210 Space Saving Vacuum Sealer has a sleek compact design to save counter space. It comes with one (1) 11" X 8 roll, two (2) quart sized bags, two (2) gallon sized bags, one (1) accessory hose, and one (1) adaptor.
The FoodSaver VS1210 Space Saving Vacuum Sealer vacuums and seals quickly.
This foodsaver does NOT have a built-in roll holder or a place to stash the cord when not in use. You will also need to keep a pair of scissors handy to cut out the desired length from the roll, as this foodsaver also does NOT have a built-in cutter.
The FoodSaver VS1210 Space Saving Vacuum Sealer vacuums and seals quickly.

Not a good model

Only 1 star because I only used it one time before it stopped vacuuming. I had an old bulky food saver for years, it finally gave up, decided to try this one because of the smaller design. I could not figure out how to use the accessory port. The tube would not click in or stay in. Even after scouring the internet for help and videos. Piece of junk. Moving on to other brands.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this was rather difficult to use. Also the instruction book was not good, very vague on instructions. There were also a couple pieces that were included that I'm not sure what you did with them, nothing in the instructions mentioned anything about them. It took me about 6 tries to get the vacuum to work. I found you have to have quite a bit more of the plastic than the size of the food in order to get it to vacuum. There was very little of the plastic and bags needed included with the appliance, so you would have to purchase that also. All in all, it would be quite pricey to use. On the plus side, if you can get it to vacuum seal, I think it would very nicely preserve the food item.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don’t waste your money

I got this as a present, and I finally took it out to use it. Very disappointed. I would never waste my money on this product. I hate that you have to scan a code to get the directions which isn’t the biggest deal in the world just annoying. It takes forever to seal something, and you have to push extremely hard for it to even work. If it wasn’t a gift, I would bring it back to the store. Don’t waste your money.

I have been stupid enough to bu 2 of these, no suction on wet meat ,waste of money 15 minuts it was in the trash can ! Back to zip locks... DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU ARE BAGGING CEREAL !
