I bought this in April of this year because I wanted one that is on hand quickly, I use the V3240 for all my heavy duty sealing such as meat and items from the garden. The V3240 is the best and I thought the VS1260 would help with the little stuff. It worked great the first few times I used it and now it “sucks” and I’m not talking about the air. I do know how to use these and only use Food Saver bags and this one no matter how I put it in it will not suck out the air even after running a few minutes. I’m very disappointed as I have always loved my Food Savers and this is the first one to disappoint. I will definitely be contacting customer service hopefully it is just a defective one because I loved the idea of having one on hand quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I own a FoodSaver 4800 Series 2-in-1 Automatic Vacuum Sealing System. It cost more because it does more. More importantly, it vacuums the air of a bag and seals it right the first time. The VS1260 is a test in patience. No cutter is part of the issue but the crux is, it just won’t vacuum and seal without a LOT of fuss. I’d send this back and upgrade if I could

The FoodSaver VS1260 was designed as a space saving unit, so it does not have such a big power output as our other, larger FoodSaver countertop vacuum sealers.
This model was released relatively recently, so your unit should still be under the 5 year warranty.

I absolutely love this unit! Doesn’t take up a lot of space, and is super easy to use. I freeze single serving portions of stews, sauces, and soups then vacuum seal them. Perfect to take them out and pop them in boiling water for a quick home made dinner. Now I can buy bulk packs of meat too and not worry about freezer burn. Perfect gift for a single person or senior - a real money saver!

Don’t waste your money stops working after a bit

I bought this about 5 months ago worked great the first few times I used it, then it would not vacuum out the air. I contacted customer service which was a hassle. The lady acted like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was doing. I had to keep reminding her I already have a bigger food-saver I just wanted one for quick sealers. I finally got another one and again the first few times it worked great and then the same thing happened. Not only did it not vacuum out the air the side button kept sticking and it didn’t want to open after closing it shut. After all that now it quite working completely. For all those people who gave a good review I would be curious to see how it is working after several uses. I truly am disappointed and question whether Food Save still cares about the quality of their product because my other food saver works great and I have had for a very long time. Don’t waste your money on this one.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I bought the first sealer which worked for about a week. They sent me a replacement sealer which doesn't work correctly. The accessory attachment don't work well and are extremely difficult to connect. I also bought sealer containers which do not hold the seals. Basically, everything sucks. Don't waste your money.
