Great for space but not for liquids

I bought this one for the size but because it is so small anything with a liquid spills whiile you are sealing. I am upgrading for a larger model for this reason.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We recommend pre-freezing meats and other moist foods for 1-2 hours before vacuum sealing. Excess liquids from moist foods can cause the unit to not vacuum, and permanent damage can occur.

This is a Christmas gift, so it has not been opened. It was received with the internal slip and no outside packaging. It did not seem damaged. It appears to be a money saving measure which is pretty bad if the product is going to be presented as a gift. Now Food Saver is charging me for a subscription I did not authorize or are interested in. I will purchase refills as I need them, not when you want to make a new charge. Please eliminate my non authorized subscription from your processing.

This VS1260 has a small footprint. I can store it on its back in the cupboard that holds the crockpot with no issues. I'm still learning how to cut bags evenly and with enough headspace. It would be nice if the attachments could be stored "inside" the device, like some of the other models, but I bought the "great sale" unit, and I am pleased. I haven't used it often, but it is user friendly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not verypowerful. Had the larger one and think it was a better unit. Like that it fits in smaller space but not if it doesn’t work well

I purchased this unit to seal canning jars. Works well. It doesn’t store a roll or does not have a bag cutter but I have a food saver with those options on it already
Wanted this to do canning jars. You can use scissors to make bags and it is flat enough to fit in a drawer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Don’t waste your money stops working after a bit

I bought this about 5 months ago worked great the first few times I used it, then it would not vacuum out the air. I contacted customer service which was a hassle. The lady acted like I was stupid and didn’t know what I was doing. I had to keep reminding her I already have a bigger food-saver I just wanted one for quick sealers. I finally got another one and again the first few times it worked great and then the same thing happened. Not only did it not vacuum out the air the side button kept sticking and it didn’t want to open after closing it shut. After all that now it quite working completely. For all those people who gave a good review I would be curious to see how it is working after several uses. I truly am disappointed and question whether Food Save still cares about the quality of their product because my other food saver works great and I have had for a very long time. Don’t waste your money on this one.

I am frustrated with this sealer. I am unable to close the sealer tightly, and because of this I am unable to seal my food. After about 15 minutes of pressing on the sealer I finally heard a click and the sealer sealed. I have tried to seal food 5 different times and I have the same difficulty. I will be sending this sealer back.

Both sides of the lid must be closed simultaneously - you have to hear the click on both sides in order for the unit to work properly.
