Great Head Unit

Been on several rides and am very pleased with the 540. I upgraded from an Edge 520, which worked great, but the larger screen/fonts is so much easier to read. Battery life is great and so is the integration with Varia lights. Very happy with this upgrade!

My favorite cycling computer just got better

I had expected the 540 to be a lot more similar to the 530 but the performance and UI have improved, and it charges with USB-C now. Haven't done a really long ride yet but the battery life seems comparable to the older models. Great upgrade for anyone with an older Garmin, and very competitive with the Wahoo and Karoo alternatives.

In and out of charge

I bought this Edge in January and ever since it sometimes charges and other times I try every cord in the house and I get a blank screen. I am not sure who to contact but I would like another one that works.

Quick setup with excellent features

I have ridden about 200 miles using the Garmin 540 and it has exceeded my expectations. The power, mileage, time and altitude functions work well. As a bonus the road hazard warnings and drink to hydrate notifications and a welcome addition. I am impressed with how this unit links up with my SRAM electronic components!

Garmin 540 simplicity at its best

I’ve always thought that the most expensive meant the best. But I have found out that is not the case in cycling (especially) between bikes,equipment locations,and Bikepacking it is not cheap.
With time and age you realize simple is always better than complicated and the 540 gives you everything you need and nothing you don’t easy setup and navigation through the menu. I’m glad this is true to its nature and I’m looking forward to many trips with my equipment choices with no regrets.

Perfect size to have all 7 of my data screens displayed visibly while not being too large and in the way. I often use it in tandem with my Forerunner, and the numbers are very very very close to each other in terms of elevation and distance.
The lack of touchscreen didn't bother me, except when I had my lights up against the buttons due to handlebar space. In those instances, touchscreen would have very handy.
Great for any level of cyclist who wants data!
