Our building in NYC has steam heat which makes it very dry. This unit replaced a 10 year old Venta model. We have several and I have recommended it to friends and relatives. The AH550 has improved performance because of the new way the rotating disks disperse the moisture. It runs 24/7, low power requirements and quiet. It just maintains clean air and humidity comfort. We simply fill it up with plain water daily. Every few weeks we rinse out the bottom and add fresh conditioner. No filters or other maintenance. The new app provides wifi control and numeric information. The app integrates with Google Home. I can see my lighting and other IoT in this app same as GH. However, this Venta model does NOT integrate for voice control or appear in the Google home app. If voice control is important, you can plug it into a wifi controlled socket for off/on via Voice. I just leave it on the whole season. There is an extra quiet sleep mode too, but usually not necessary.

This is my second Venta humidifier. I’m using this model to humidify my home recording stud where I hang my guitars from the wall for easy access (and works of art imho). It’s keeping the humidity right where I want it (between 45-50%). But it took about a 7-10 to get the room (15x20) to get to that 45% mark. This model has 3 settings (low-medium-high) and an LED display for the humidity level. Definitely a quality product.
