It's black in the pictures, however I received an "Albino" edition, which was white. Tried it for a few days, definitely needed some practice using the DPI-dropping function button. 6400 DPI seemed a little much, but I was getting used to it. Not a fan of the white finish, so I returned it. Might pick up an actual black one elsewhere, but I can say I wasn't very blown away by the build quality. Might try something similar from a different company. HP handled the situation well after discovering their mistake, however, I feel there should be a disclaimer somewhere mentioning that you might not get the exact product in the exact finish you ordered, or notification if there is a problem with shipping the exact model and finish you order.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
