loxol,
Thanks for your review. The Picture Size setting is not available while you're in an app. Please long press the Return key - which will revert your screen to Samsung TV Plus - then access the settings again. You will then be able to adjust the picture ratio.

It does NOT digitally upgrade ANYTHING from ANY app or channel. Furthermore, the picture quality is awful and if there are any bright lights in any show or movie you are watching all you will see is a bright blue hue, spot and it will beed into the screen. I WILL NEVER buy another Samsung TV again!!!

Picture is great, Sound is not
on December 16, 2023

This TV is amazing! Picture is great, the colors are so vivid and life like. I haven't changed any settings for the picture quality, haven't needed to.
One issue I do have is I am very sensitive to sound. I had to lower the bass but I still find myself increasing and decreasing the sound continuously and the surround background sound is annoying. I turned off Dolby Atmos but it still comes through some sounds are right next to me. If I could set it up like a regular old tv, please let me know. I'm thinking I might need to buy a sound bar but not sure if that would solve my problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Angie,
Thank you for purchasing Samsung's Q80C TV and for your feedback on the sound. To ensure you’ve got the latest sound quality updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If the sound is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several sound settings you can adjust to suit your personal preferences.
• Sound Modes may better meet your personal preferences. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > Sound > Sound Mode, or Expert Settings to fine-tune and customize your sound.
• Adaptive Sound will also further optimize sound quality by analyzing the viewing space and the acoustic components of the content. Go to: Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings.
Should you choose to add a Samsung Soundbar to your TV, please know that our Q-Series Soundbars (such as the HW-Q800C) feature Q-Symphony which will synchronize with the speakers of your TV for an immersive 3D sound experience.
To assist you with possible sound settings adjustments for a better audio experience or choosing a Samsung Soundbar to complement your viewing enjoyment, please reach out to us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8 AM - 12 AM EST, seven days a week.

Still a great TV even after a couple of years!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a Samsung fan and buyer for decades now and have practically Samsung everything including TVs. I had been looking at this TV for quite some time and comparing it to other brand mini-LED TVs. The quality and picture processing of Samsung can't be beat. Note that I have OLED TVs which are top of their class in picture quality. I had the opportunity to look at content on the Q80C along with a higher end Samsung 4K Neo QLED and with the same content, Q80C was quite on par with image quality. It can't match the QN900C or OLEDs but with its Full Array panel, it does quite well with blacks, contrast and colors. Interestingly enough, when I compared the Q80C against the Samsung Neo QLED 4K, the color seemed to pop more on Q80C. I barely notice any blooming and love that the TV is slim and looks great on the wall when mounted flush against the wall. The AI feature is okay but I prefer the Standard picture setting which does really well in almost all content. The solar powered remote is nice but do wish it was backlit. The on screen menu has been updated so it is better than before and settings are easier to get to.

Poor video quality

I purchased the 98 inch. Picture quality, colors and HDR does not satisfy me. Actually I feel my 2019 Q70 looks better. Of course I don’t expect it to look as great as a neo qled but still for a 2023 tv it should hold its own. Maybe it’s a simple fix with a future firmware update but it’s too point I’m so displeased I rather return the new 98 inch Q80 and put my 85 inch 2021 neo qled or 85 inch 2019 Q70 tv back up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the picture quality of your Q80C TV. To ensure you’ve got the latest image quality updates, please confirm that your TV is up to date with the latest firmware version. You can check by going to: Home > Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
If the picture you’re seeing is still not to your liking after updating firmware, there are several picture settings you may want to try adjusting.
Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode ...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments 2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments 3. Eco: Provided to save energy 4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room 5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
You can also fine-tune your picture with expert settings such as brightness, contrast, sharpness and more (All Settings > Picture > Expert Settings).
Intelligent Mode enables the TV to recognize and analyze the surroundings, noise, content, and your usage patterns to provide the best viewing experience. You can enable Intelligent Mode by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings > Intelligent Mode.
For further assistance with settings adjustments, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG, 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week. Or visit us on the Samsung website and click on the ‘Support’ link for: • LiveChat • Manuals, Software, & Warranty Info
