I live the fact that there isn't a tank to keep clean or take up storage. This system is effective, easy to change cartridges and has a sleek design. It's has a loud hum while processing but that may be true for any RO system. We're super happy with it.
Seems to work well. After sediment filter and whole house filter the output from waterdrop shows a tds of 17-24, more than enough filtering. Good resultJust a bit expensive.
We love our new RO system. It's already saved us $$ since we are no longer buying bottled water, and I am so glad to reduce our use of single-use plastics as well. The water tastes great and the system works like a dream.
We brought the 800 GPD Tankless RO System with UV Sterilizing Light and Smart Faucet - Waterdrop G3P800 along with Remineralization Filter a few months ago. So far, we are really glad with our RO System. It has been one of the best investments since not only the water tastes great but also as the water wastage ratio is 3:1, one of the least water wasting RO systems available in the market.
Before 800GPD, we had a traditional RO system with a tank and with remineralization as well. However, each time the filters had be changed we had to contact the company that installed it and it was a hassle. So, we decided to change to Waterdrop RO system. Originally planned for 400GPD RO system, however ended up buying 800GPD RO system as it came with UV light that further sterilized the water. It turned out to be a good decision since there have a lot of rains lately and there have been boil water advisories in various surrounding neighborhoods. Having water sterilized automatically does give a peace of mind especially as we are having a baby soon.
Overall, we are happy with the Waterdrop RO system and below are some of the pros and cons.
Pros: Water tastes ones of the best we have ever tasted, probably reminerilization adds that taste. My wife is happy with her tea brew taste from this water. She's unable to drink bottled water anymore. :) UV sterilization has been a great feature as we do not have to boil water. Water usage to wastage is 3:1 which is certainly better than 1:1 or 1:2 or even 1:3 for certain traditional RO systems. Ease of changing filters is one of the simplest DIY tasks and probably fastest and doesn't need involvement of water system companies as in traditional RO systems. TDS display on faucet is convenient. Filters life indication on faucet is very convenient and easy to monitor to change. Tank less RO system under sink certainly saves a good amount of cabinet space and also looks very neat and clean.
Cons: The system is somewhat noisy specially when silent or at night times unlike the traditional RO system we had previously. We had to run electrical wiring for an outlet under the sink cabinet before we got this RO system. Since this is a tank less RO system, water is unavailable in case there is no power. The faucet level is available only on right. Our previous water faucet lever was on left as our RO system faucet is left of kitchen sink faucet so left faucet lever was very convenient. There is no active filter life indication for remineralization filter.
Overall, we would do it all over again, if we had to, as this is one of the wonderful RO systems available and we really like it. Pure drinking water is an essential need yet a bliss.
