Not as hard to assemble as reviews suggest

The manual is actually pretty easy to understand, and it's not that hard to assemble. The only trouble I encountered was that the weather coating on the metal was so thick that I couldn't fit a piece into a slot without some serious hammering. And it's not actually 10', the width of the fabric awning is around 9' 2". But other than that, it's pretty nice.

Instructions are improved, includes wood screws now

This is actually a really good awning. I was skeptical after reading some reviews but I figured I could compensate for them as I am an above average DIY person. The instructions were fairly clear and it did come with wood bolts to mount to wood (another review stated it doesn't). My only hang-up is that they didn't put distances on how far in the connectors should be for the arms to the front bar which took a little trial and error. If you don't get them exactly right, the arms will extend the wrong way when closing or only one will extend the full way when opening. Other than that, it is a great product and has already survived a couple decent winds with no problems.
