My wife really wanted a chair with a foot rest. After putting it together the comfort and ability to lay all the way back takes the stress off her when she¡¯s working and needs a rest from sitting straight up

if your used to chair that leans back Do Not Get It

If you are used to a office chair that? swivels and? seat and back leans back( as if your going to tip over) do not get this chair? the back is very stiff and you CAN NOT lean back only by moving the back tilt adjustment, after half hour or so this chair is not comfortable at all and if you have short legs my wife 5'2 , when chair all the way down, her feet just touches the floor and that is if the back of chair is straight up very comfortable position

This chair is a recliner, not a rocker. The difference is important.

The reason I was looking for a recliner vs a rocker is because I feel like standard office chairs impose an uncomfortable sitting position called "good posture." Good posture? No. I need to be able to recline back ever so slightly or the chair gives me back pain. A rocker can recline as long as you continue to push back, but the angle of the seat to the back is fixed, so when the back reclines, the seat lifts your legs off the floor. In this chair, the back reclines, but the seat stays horizontal and doesn't move with the back, and the angle of reclination remains where you set it. This arrangement provides a more comfortable seating position. The arms of this chair are made of thick plastic anchored at each end. While they don't adjust up and down, they're stronger than an adjustable arm. My wife has a relatively new chair with adjustable "T" shaped arms, and one has already broken. If you want thicker arms, you can buy arm pads like gamers use. The vertical height is maintained by a hydraulic cylinder common to more expensive chairs. If the cylinder ever were to fail, it would be easily replaced. The cheap chairs have a permanent mechanism that will develop a "squeak": this chair's mechanism is different and should not begin squeaking. This chair has a fabric covering. Why is this important? Leather, faux leather, or plastic coverings are slippery, and you'll find your self sliding off the chair, or the chair will want to slide out from under you. I know because my wife's chair is like that: I had to use a belt as a makeshift "seat belt" to hold me in the chair. This chair is NOT slippery, so I don't slid off while working. The adjustment levers work easily, and the chair is very presentable in an office setting. The chair is firm, not soft; I feel like it supports me better.I'm 77 and I didn't find the chair all that hard to assemble; it took me an hour or so. higher quality wheel to enhance the ease of motion and smoothness of the chair, but I worried that the chair would roll too easily with these better wheels. That didn't turn out to be true: The chair glides easily on these wheels, but otherwise stays where I put it.

nice chair for the money

The instructions do not tell you which direction to put the bracket for holding the back to the chair. Once you get that right you have to push down hard on the top piece against the bottom to make it fit. It didnot quite line up right on the pattern, bottom was off an inch from the top. Not that noticeable onceyou get the arms on. It is comfortable and the back in high enough for a 6' person and I like how itreclines. Only time will tell how well it will hold up. But as for now I would recommend on price alone

Comfy but a few issues

I bought this for my husband as an office chair. I was looking for fabric because he ruins "fake leather" ones. Within a year or two the "leather" is tearing off the backing. He is giving it mixed reviews. The arm rests are wobbly and no matter what he as tried, he can't get them to stay tight. Has retightned them several times and only had it put together for a few days. He does state it is comfy and the Leg rest is a nice feature. Regarding the back, it either has to be in a reclined setting or locked setting. He is not crazy about this and would like it to be flexible like most office chairs that have some give which is more comfortable
