I chose this particular greenhouse because I figured that a hinged door would be more durable than a sliding one. Also, Aosom has a good Better Business Bureau rating.
It took a full day to assemble it by myself. I was pleased the the pieces fit together and lined up properly. A few of the aluminum pieces were bent along the edges but these were easily straightened. As others have stated, the directions were a bit confusing at first but it soon became apparent how things went together. Here are some recommendations from my experience:
You'll want to not fully tighten the screws until the panels are in place. Also, removing the protective film from the panels before inserting them will make things easier.
There is no mention of anchoring the greenhouse to the ground. I believe this is essential if you don't want it blowing away! Mine is on a deck, so I got some 1-1/2" aluminum angle from Lowes, cut it to 3" lengths, used sheet metal screws to fasten them to the base, and screwed it to the deck.
They also don't say anything about caulking, but I believe silicone caulking around the panels will not only prevent leaks but also add rigidity to the unit.
All told, I'm very pleased with my greenhouse and consider it a good value for the price.
My mom adore it. It¡¯s big, light possible to adjust by yourself. You need to fix it to the ground and seal edges it¡¯s not heavy if it¡¯s windy can fly away.
Didn’t even have the chance to finish setting up the greenhouse when it started to rain and slightly windy, it didn’t help I presume that pieces were received damaged, was turned to a heap of aluminum trash pile. There it is and there it’s gone!
I assembled this myself. I am only 5 ft. tall and am 68 years old and my balance isn't perfect anymore. The only thing I needed help for was getting the cover on and my son helped me with that. The greenhouse was just what I needed for the plants.
I don¡¯t know why this gets tough reviews on putting together. Sure it¡¯s tedious, but I put it together alone in 6 hours. Sealing it up tomorrow with silicone, highly recommended. Seal it everywhere you can. If you put it together like in my pics this thing should last you a good while.
Seems to be legit, if you take your time and spread out your pieces, it takes about 6 hours for one person to put together. Highly recommend putting on a foundation like in my pics. Also, seal it up with silicone, especially around the gutters.
