This is just what I needed, for reading and sewing. The light is bright and clear and the adjustable arm reaches easily where it's needed and stays in place.
I have an older clip-on style on that is only one brightness, and turn-on switch is on the cord. I use it in my sewing room, but this year used it as a grow light to start my seeds. It worked like a dream. I currently use it to minimize my seasonal affect disorder. ( I live fairly far north where it rains a lot. Dark winters.) Seems to help. I never found anything on it that gives a lux or lumen measurement for the lamp, but I figured if it made the right light to get my garden plants started, it would work for me too.
The quality of the light is excellent, and I really enjoy the 3 settings. The clamp is difficult for my old hands to manipulate, and I think the positionable arm could be stiffer. It's working well on my floor loom.
