I’m so glad to have found Natalie Zimas code so I could purchase this air Doctor for my studio. Working with volatile compounds has worried me for some time with reguards to my breathing them in. I feel a lot better knowing this little guy has me well covered :)

Worthy investment

A AirDoctor model with a battery backup would be great! We don't know how long the power outage was before we got home to find clocks, etc. needed reset. But the machine is quiet, easy to read & operate, & the dimmer switch is great. Sometimes I leave the soft blue LED light on as a gentle nite light. Our sneezing is drastically cut down, & the room mustiness has decreased as well.

I love my air doctors and decided to try this new smaller one for kids’ bedrooms but it is noticeably louder than the others.

No handles

It is quiet and puts out cooler air, which is nice during Spring/Fall when the central AC/heat does not come on too often! It definitely gets rid of odors, esp in closets and it is easier to breathe when it is running! This would be a perfect air purifier if it had handles or notches for easy moving, but I literally have to pick the whole thing up, with one habd holding bottom because it's slippery.

I purchased two units, and don’t notice much of a difference at all. My daughter calls it an expensive fan.

Noisy

I have purchased a whole fleet of Air Doctors for my home. I have MCS/CI/TILT after a mold issue in my home and require immaculately clean air. I trust Air Doctor.
Originally I bought the 5500 and a 3500 and loved them, although my family, who are sensitive to noise, were only happy with them on low settings - I think they are the quietest air purifiers I have owned (I’ve tried three other popular brands).
When I expanded further, I bought a couple more 3500s and two of these 1000s to put in bedrooms, mostly because they take up less space, but also because I thought they would be quieter for my family members. (I’m not sure if there’s decibel ratings online. If so, I did not check that out. Oops!)
Sadly, the 1000s are more noisy than the 3500 or 5500. I don’t understand how this could be. Both of my 1000 units are the same, which makes me think it’s not a defect. And of course, because I have such a favorable view of Air Doctor, I threw the boxes away, assuming I would love these, when really I want to return them. To be fair, your average person may be OK with the noise. But if you have any noise sensitivity at all, I would recommend the 3500.

Plastic Smell
on January 12, 2026

This was my 4th Air Doctor purchase and it has a very strong plastic smell it emits when its running. It took over a week for it to go away, I had to run it and open the window every once in a while to get the smell out (and yes the plastic packaging on the filters were removed before turning it on!). I haven't had this issue with my past Air Doctor purchases so they probably recently changed manufacturers

Nice features and looks nice in the room, but louder than similarly sized HEPA air filters.
