Works way better than I expected. I purchased this for the bathroom and the size was probably too much, but this gives me some leeway if I decide to use it in the whole house come summertime when it's way more humid. I brought the humidity down significantly after a shower and keeps our towels nice and dry. I wasn't expecting it to move so much air, in and out of the unit, so I can't keep it next to the window because it blows the curtains too much. I do wish the cord was a little longer as well as the included drain hose.

Bigger is not BETTER!

Purchased recently to replace another brand larger unit that had quit working at 4 years seasonally used. Set up in place, waited 48hrs and within two days realized this unit at half the size was not only doing a better job at what they are built and designed to do but also sooooo much quieter!! Best money spent..no regrets!

This dehumidifier works well straight out of the box. The controls are fairly easy to figure out too. I'm giving this 4 stars as the humidity control is a bit odd. If you set it to 50%, the humidity in the room can vary between 45 and 56% based on the values I'm reading off of the six humidity gages I have around the living room. The 45% setting is even more variable as I've seen values between 36% and 52%. So I'm not sure how accurate the built-it humidity sensor is. I'm using the same model for several humidity gages around the house and I've lined them all up in the same spot a few times and they've all read +- 2% humidity and +- 1 F from each other, so I trust them more than the Waykar sensor. That would be one thing I think Waykar could improve on their dehumidifiers. We have three different Waykar models in our house.

The dehumidifier is making life easier for my wife who suffers from osteo arthritis. The lower humidity in the house makes her pain less. It also makes the atmosphere in the house more comfortable for me. I have been able to raise the temperature setting on the central air conditioning which means that it runs less and it feels cooler. The down side is the additional noise in the house. I haven't seen a power bill yet so don't know the impact on our energy use.
