I'm sure there are better awnings out there but for the price it is just right. It appears to be well constructed, works great and looks terrific. Took some figuring and time to put it together but if you read the instructions three time and then follow them to the letter you'll get it done.
Enjoy!

Unfathomable directions
on June 3, 2021

The directions provided are referred to in urban land as Chinglish.
some parts do not fit properly and have to be fabricated by the buyer.
the intent to provide Pictures or depictions was defeated by the lack of clarity, causing buyer to improvise.

Good luck with this one

The awning came in a number of pieces. This awning is 8 feet so all sections are 4 feet and have to be assembled. I assume in an attempt to produce and ship them cheaper. Instructions are some of the worst I ever seen. If you have limited tool skills and short patience, don't even think about this one. One positive thing I will say is the parts seems to be pretty substantial which is good for a working mechanism like this. The awning material itself feels a little cheesy. We'll see how long it lasts.

Hard pass next time.

This is my first awning, so I don’t claim to be an expert. But I do know if I were to purchase another awning, knowing the ordeal I went through building this one, I would not get this again. I consider myself relatively handy, fabricating many things from metal, wood, etc. I'm a born Do-It-Yourselfer, so I have a ton of tools and have built, fabricated, fixed, and created many different things. For the lady that posted she built and mounted this awning all on her own....WOW! Props to her!
For everyone else, this is an advanced install. Not intermediate. Not Average. Not Beginner. Prepare to get frustrated beyond belief. Of all the things I've ever done, and that includes jacking up cars on their side, and installing cat convertor shields, this was THEE most frustrating thing I've ever installed.
Overall, I am happy with the awning, but I would not purchase this again. The item was packaged poorly in China. They did a horrible job protecting major pieces. The roller had dings. The arms were majorly scratched up and dented. The mounting brackets were not even (bad welds). The fabric had dirt marks (and it was sealed in a bag!). Finally, the instructions were a joke. Prepare to have a white paint pen handy, because you will be touching up a lot of dings, none of them your doing.
The biggest issue was the instructions. I built this awning and hung it myself on my stucco wall outside my backyard. I would never ever trust this instruction manual for anything. The diagrams are horrible to useless. The sequence was a waste of time and effort. Every reference to "see diagram" were laughable at best because you can't even make out the images in the diagram.
Next, the steps in assembling the awning were a joke. I modified how I assembled the unit, for safety and sanity. Even with another person, I still wouldn't have followed the instruction manual. Why assemble all these pieces together on the floor, only to end up with an insanely heavy awning that you (and another person) would attempt to hang on a wall at least 8 feet high? Does that sound safe to anyone?
My suggestion? I assembled the Torsion Bar needed to mount on the wall first. Once that's secured with wall mounts, then I began building the awning on my wall. It was lighter and safer. There are so many moving pieces in the unit that require SO much adjustments, so make your assembly easier. Save yourself some headache and time and build the unit on the wall while you're working with lighter pieces.
TBQH, if it weren’t for 1) the finished product (after touching up all the dings with a paint pen) and 2) AOSOM's customer service, I wouldn’t have rated past one star. Its not AOSOM’s fault this unit was packaged poorly or had quality control issues. They were very supportive and helpful. But, they aren't going to build it for you, so be ready for what you're getting yourself into. Goodluck with your install!
