A solid and attractive upgrade to the rubbery Otterbox Defender that I had on my iPhone SE. The lip is a stiffer rubber, so hopefully will not stretch out the way its predecessor did in its later years. One important difference: the Defender series no longer includes a screen protector. Otterbox states that with the raised lip and improvements in glass strength, they found that an additional screen protector brought little benefit. You can still add one yourself, but you will need to make sure to get one that fits on the interior of the lip rectangle, as there is not enough between the lip and screen to sandwich between the two. This means getting a screen protector with exactly the right dimension: one OtterBox's Performance Glass or PErformance Plus Glass, but NOT their edge-to-edge glass. Personally, I am fine with this design change, as the built-in protector on my old case was very ratty toward the end.
