Good but takes practice

It has several functionalities according to the level of suction that expand the possibilities for food sealing. Even after reading the instructions took me some time to get used as this is my first vacuum sealer but I’m glad to have it know to reduce my food wasting. In a small household it’s always a struggle

Eye grabbing appliance that misses the practicality mark

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Presto food saver looks really aesthetically pleasing on the outside. It's packaged well. Upon opening the box you'll find the scale which you screw onto the unit, a power cord, a couple of rolls of bags in different sizes, a hose and a couple of additional vacuum sealed bags.
The power cord plugs into the back of the unit and then into the wall. Once plugged in, it starts right up. I'm not sure if it's a universal issue but on my unit, it is a very loose connection in the back which did cause it to become unplugged several times which is frustrating. The scale on top works well and is a nice design feature and very helpful when doing large batches of ground beef.
I have used another vacuum Sealer in which the bags are on the roll inside the unit in a type of dispenser. I really dislike that this unit doesn't dispense the bags and they're separate. Another thing I find inefficient and cumbersome is that the unit doesn't stay open by itself and you're having to fumble around and hold the unit open while you situate the end of the bag needing sealed. It should stay open on its own. It's hard when you've got meat juice on your hands.
Overall, it's a fine unit. I think they put more money into the beautiful outside design and the scale than the inner practical workings of this appliance.

No more plastic baggies for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to try this out. It’s very easy to use and does not take up a lot of counter space. The instructions are simple to follow and the buttons are very clearly marked as to what they are for. The scale is a wonderful addition too. Vacuum sealed in no time!!
This is going to be a big money saver for me…no need to buy freezer bags anymore!

I am very excited to try to sous vide with this!! Time will tell how fresh it keeps food, however from the looks of it, I will not be disappointed!

Compact and Useful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first vacuum sealer, and after playing around with it a bit, I am impressed!
It’s a compact size, which is great for small kitchens/apartment living. There are a number of settings, making it a bit overwhelming at first. However, the instruction booklet is fairly easily to follow along, and pretty quickly I found myself vacuum sealing some hard cheese successfully. While the instructions said it would automatically stop, I had to manually stop the seal. No biggie. There are options to seal foods differently depending on if they’re dry or moist, with varying types of pressure. The scale is handy, and was accurate when comparing it to my existing kitchen scale.
Overall, this is a great addition to a kitchen and I’m looking forward to introducing vacuum sealing to my food prep process.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a unique gadget that you wouldn’t realize comes in handy for a variety of things. It helps save money in wasted/freezer burnt foods by provided an airtight seal, keeping foods fresher longer. It’s also easy to tell when the seal is complete on the bags. There are also a bunch of settings for your needs - settings for moist or dry foods, seal only, vacuum seal, different pressures, and a marinate setting. I also love the digital scale which is perfect for meal prep/achieving weight loss goals, and properly labeling the bags of foods that you seal. There are lots of features to explore on this vacuum sealer and it’s worth the price if you’re someone that cooks often!
