Sturdy but the desktop material is rough/scratchy/unpolished

It was fairly easy to build solo (~45 mins), and it feels sturdy. However the bamboo desk top that we paid extra for does not feel nice - especially compared to competitors& options out there. The desktop is rough, scratchy, and feels a bit like low-gauge sandpaper. I will need to get a bit mousepad to cover it up. I feel a bit stuck since I can&t really disassemble and return it now that it is built. Would recommend doing your homework on the desk top surfaces before buying -- or feel the desk top surface first before you unbox everything and prevent yourself from being able to return.

I am so pleased with my desk. I’m using it in my hobby space for sewing and other crafts. My husband and I are both impressed with the quality and workmanship. This table is very solid. Assembly was straightforward and quick and I was able to do it myself.

Excellent Desk! Exactly What I Needed!

After just a couple of weeks with my new Flexispot E7 Premium desk, I am very pleased with the quality and the stability of the desk! The 15-year warranty also provides peace of mind that this will be a desk for life. I opted for the oval 3-stage frame and am happy that I did. The oval 3-stage frame looks very sleek and is solid and well-designed. Height adjustment is fast, smooth, and fairly quiet. Additionally, the E7 Premium frame accommodates desktops from 48-inches up to 80-inches in width, so the desk can be sized to your needs.
The adjustment range exceeds my needs as a 5-foot 10-inch tall person. I can sit and stand comfortably with adjustment room to spare. Even at standing height, the desk is very stable front-to-back and side-to-side. My dual monitor setup does, of course, shake slightly if I try hard to wobble the desk, but during normal use and during up/down travel, the monitors don&t move much at all. Operation is smooth and fairly quiet, though as my first sit-to-stand desk I don&t have anything to compare to. I will generally only raise and lower my desk a couple times during a normal day. Adjustment speed is ample with the dual motors and I&m able to transition between sitting and standing within a few seconds.
I was a bit concerned about the desktop being chipboard rather than solid wood, but after unboxing and using it for a couple weeks, I have to say that it feels very solid and premium. Of course, solid wood is an option for additional cost. I am not concerned with durability issues of the chipboard as it is heavier and beefier than I imagined it would be.
Setup of the desk was quick and easy. I was able to setup the desk on my own in about 20-30 minutes following the included instructions. Everything needed was included, the screws were pre-separated and clearly marked, matching the references in the instructions. The desktop came with pre-drilled holes for mounting to the base and attaching the adjustment panel. After getting everything put together, I changed my mind on the left/right location of the adjustment panel and was able to easily move it, as there are pre-drilled holes for it on both sides of the desktop, allowing you to choose its orientation.
There is a cable management solution for the desk wiring only, so expect to add separate cable management for your devices. I purchased a 10-outlet surge protector from a big box hardware store and mounted it to the underside of the desktop--no pre-drilled holes for that, of course. This affords me a single 6-foot cable to plug into the wall and 10 outlets to use for power to the frame motors and my devices.
My previous sitting desk was 72-inch by 24-inch. The Flexispot desktop I went with is 48-inch by 30-inch. While not as wide as my previous desk, the extra 6 inches of depth provide ample space for my devices to live and for me to work. One thing I really appreciate about the Flexispot E7 frame is that the E7 frame is able to accommodate desktops up to 80-inches wide. This gives me future expandability should I ever need a wider desktop later on. The 355-pound capacity of the E7 Premium frame is more than ample for my needs, but for those needing more weight capacity, the E7 Pro frame accommodates up to 440-pounds.
Before making my purchase, I researched several different manufacturers and models of standing desks. Ease of setup, price point, stability, and warranty were all factors that I considered. I watched review and comparison videos for each of the top contenders I was considering and ultimately felt that Flexispot was the best overall choice. The purchase process was easy through the Flexispot website and shipping was prompt. Everything was delivered undamaged and on-time. Since I have not experienced any issues with the desk, I cannot speak to the quality of their support, but the company and product reviews I have seen give me confidence that, should I ever have an issue, Flexispot will be there to help when I need them.
Overall, I could not be happier with my purchase! The Flexispot E7 Premium is exactly what I needed for my office space and provides an easy-to-assemble, sleek-looking, adjustable work space that is able to grow with my needs and is backed by a 15-year warranty. Plus, the price point is excellent!
