E2 Desk Overview
on April 30, 2025
Posted by: Caden C.
The E2 standing desk is clean and efficient. In summary, its assembly is moderate, its use is satisfactory, and its look is clean.
Assembly:
Requires the use of several hand tools (screwdriver, alan wrench, drill and/or impact driver) and enough strength to pick/hold parts of the desk in place, as well as re-orient when assembly is finished. If you&re somewhat handy, assembly should pose no problem with the clear directions. The desk is large enough that measurements don&t have to be to the micrometer, so measuring with a tape measure is adequate. If you&re not handy or lack basic woodshop-like skills, you might find assembly challenging. Some of the provided fasteners are a little short, but they get the job done. If you intend to move the desk frequently or put it through heavy daily use, it may be desirable to assemble the desk with longer/larger screws.
Use:
The desk is very stable and heavy enough to prevent vibrations (on carpet, I&m unsure how it does on hard flooring). It has ample space (depending on the desktop size) for a PC/monitors OR a large amount of paperwork (some desktops can easily fit a 30"x42" engineering drawing). The chipboard top is less cheap in quality than the name suggests, and looks quite nice. I wouldn&t recommend a chipboard top in wet conditions or for a workshop/place where the desktop will take heavy wear. . . solid wood, bamboo, or butcher block is probably better. The option to buy the frame only means you could also but a metal or lab-grade top on the desk if desired.
Look/construction:
Some of this was covered in the previous category, but from a aesthetic perspective, the desk looks nice, albeit simple. Cable management might be an issue if you&re intending to have multiple monitors/a PC tower on your desk, but flexispot offers solutions (although they&re somewhat expensive) for cable management. Alternatively, some duct tape or other adhevise and creativity can make cables go away relatively cheaply without impacting looks severely. Again, the chipboard top looks nicer than its price suggests, although other tops may have a better look. The controls are simple and non eye-catching and don&t impact the appearance of the desk. The motor and axle are tucked neatly up against the desktop, so they hide well.
Overall:
The desk is well-made and lives up to its advertisements. Although flexispot advertises a high weight limit, I wouldn&t recommend stacking 100+ lbs on the desk. . . 50-70 is probably the upper limit if you want the motor to last the advertised 5 or so years. For the price (especially if you can wait until the E2 goes on sale), its worth the purchase.

Good but missing pre-drilled holes
on October 14, 2023

Overall, the desk functions as expected but the top was missing a few of the predrilled holes, so assembly was challenging as someone without a drill. I ended up having to tape a few pieces on, which was less than ideal.

Good, but Issues
on December 10, 2024
Posted by: Cameron M.
It is a great desk, and I do really like it, but there are some issues. My desk never came with the proper holes on the sides for minting headphones. I am unsure if this is just how it is, or an issue. It also never came with two holes on the bottom center, for me to screw in the stand in the center of the desk. It is only supported with the screw holes on either side. It was also a little pain to put together, and took some time. Other than putting it together, the product is amazing and I do enjoy it quite a lot. I wish it could be a little shorter, but is great nonetheless for the cheapest (practical) model available.

Awesome desk

I really like this desk. My only complaint is that it&s quite noisy going up and down. I also thought I ordered the kind that I could set heights as my favorites but I don&t see how to do that. I&m still very happy with it and it&s a major upgrade from what I was using before.
