We have a fifth wheel camper. It’s new so all the new smells irritate my throat and nasal passages. It’s actually the chemicals that make it fire retardant etc. Well we we headed to Cape Hatteras. I plugged in the air cleaner and it stated it was 175 the red light was on. I knew it was unhealthy! It took about 20 minutes on high and the numbers dropped to 30s eventually to 11-15 for the week. After it cleared the chemical odor left it was a clean like fresh rain smell to the camper. I am eternally grateful for this purifier.

As we all know, the threat of covid is constant no matter whether you received vaccination or not. The holidays, are the most precious times to be together with your family. Many families today are blended families. I wanted my family to be able to get together at least 20 of us and not have to be super worried about spreading covid. I took this unit into the house turned it on and it started at 197, and after an hour it walked itself all the way down to the eighties. There's a fireplace in this house as well. Some smokers too. I let this run on level 3 the entire time and so far it's been 6 days,
Nobody has covid.
My niece who runs her own business was so absolutely impressed with how good this unit worked in a 1000 ft² house, she bought 2 of them right then and there with her phone. One for her business and one for her house.
It truly eliminates all odors no matter what they are. Yes I would definitely buy another one. I'm very impressed
with its ease of maintenance.

I moved into an apartment where some of the neighbors and the former tenant are smokers. Within half an hour of plugging in this air purifier, my apartment smelled clean, and I could breathe so much more easily.
Then a plumbing issue necessitated removing some drywall in the bathroom, which caused a ton of debris from the walls to go airborne. Again, within half an hour the air was clear, and the AQI was back down into the single digits. I love this air purifier!

Cost Efficient and No Waste Filters

When it came out, X5 caught my eyes since it was the only air purifier on the market that did not use HEPA filters and therefore doesn’t need to replace the filter.
Plus, it’s based on an industrial dust removal technology (electrostatic precipitator) and way more cost efficient than HEPA filters.
Btw it is a breeze to use a dishwasher to clean the X5 electrostatic filter. A few spots may need hand cleaning. It’s less headache than replacing the HEPA filters and worrying about getting the dust everywhere when you replace them. Also, you don’t generate extra wastes if you do care about the environment.

Nice design and good price. The automatic mode is really all you need to have crisp clean air. It ramps up nicely when needed, and resets to low when it can. I like the simplicity of cleaning the filter a couple of times a year instead of buying new filters. The wi-fi and remote control could be eliminated, as could the bright vanity light in the front. Maybe that could shave some off the price. If you set it to night time mode, you might as well turn the cleaner off, it really doesn't clean the air like it does in regular mode.

I��ve been using the Airdog X5 for about 8 months now since backing their Indiegogo campaign. Let me be the first to tell you that this gadget is amazing!
I use the Airdog in a 20x30ft room where there is occasional smoking and the auto mode works great. As soon as the smoke hits the air, the Airdog senses the poor air quality and begins to churn more air. Even when the fan is running at a higher speed it is fairly quiet. When it is idling at a lower speed it is barely noticeable. The digital air quality meter is a neat feature that allows you to watch the air quality fluctuate along with a color coded light that changes from green to yellow to red as the air becomes worse. But if you run it on auto mode, it will probably stay in the green unless there is a pollutant introduced like smoke or aerosols. There is also an app that you can use to control and monitor the Airdog, but I don��t really see a need for it because you can just turn it on auto mode and it will do everything for you. A nice option nonetheless.
It only takes about 15-20 minutes to clear my entire room of smoke and leave the air smelling clean. If you turn it all the way up to level 4, it moves some serious air. You can clear a room in probably half the time although it is noticeably louder, so I use it only when I need too. Auto mode will only allow it to turn up to level 3 which helps keep the noise to a minimum if you run it constantly. When there is no smoke, it always smells like fresh mountain air. I run the Airdog 24/7 and I have not noticed a difference in my electric bills. I have a ton of electronics running and I have no way of monitoring electricity usage, so take that observation with a grain of salt.
The removable, washable filter is one of the features that attracted me to the Airdog X5 when I first saw it on Indiegogo. I wash the filter on a monthly basis and if there was no smoking I��m sure it could go for months without cleaning. Trust me this thing works. I can visibly see the tar build up from the smoke and whatever else is in the air. It really gets caked on there and takes some effort for me to clean. But, that is what I get for allowing smoke in the house. Running it through the dishwasher will probably do the trick for most. So far it has held up to about 5 washes with no signs of degradation.
I can rest assured knowing that the garbage in the air is ending up on that filter and not lingering around for me to breathe all night. I can report that I��ve had no sinus infections since owning the Airdog which have plagued my existence. My allergies are also non-existent when I��m in the room. There is also noticeably less dust build-up on surfaces. I used to HAVE to dust every couple of weeks. Now I do it monthly, but it��s not always needed. I despise going into the office for work because I imediately start sneezing when I enter the door due to who knows what is lingering in there. I wish I could bring the Airdog with me everywhere.
On top of all of the great features, it looks pretty sleek too! Everyone asks about it when they see it. It��s a crowd pleaser with a small footprint of about a square foot and only stands a little over 2ft tall.
Before I put this review to bed, I have to mention the sleep mode function. In the dark, the LEDs are fairly bright and it can double as a night light if you prefer. But if you are like me and you like to sleep in an abiss of darkness, just turn the Airdog to sleep mode and it will continue to run on quiet level 1 with the lights out. Goodnight!
For what it��s worth, the Airdog X5 is without a doubt my favorite crowdfunding perk I have received of the 100+ successful campaigns I��ve contributed to. It��s impact on my quality of life has been imeasurable. For such an advanced piece of technology, I expected several setbacks and disappointments that happen with many ambitious technical projects in crowdfunding. The Silicon Valley Air Experts delivered on their promises and exceeded my expectations! I would recommend the Airdog X5 to anyone.

I purchased the Airdog x5 for my wife who suffers from severe allergies. When the x5 arrived, she plugged it in and noticed the difference in her symptoms within an hour or so. She has never been able to smell odors very well, but she said that she could feel the difference in the air. From that first night, she has not had to take her allergy pills and both she and I are amazed. I did a lot of research on air purifiers and personally corresponded with the CEO of the company (Yan), who was extremely nice and very helpful. My final decision to purchase the Airdog x5 was based on the price point, the fact that there are no filters that need to be changed regularly, and the good feeling that I got from corresponding with Yan.
