I recommend this machine! Strong (think denim), plenty of features. Self-buttonholer works perfectly. This is my second Singer. While my older one works fine, I just needed something more capable for tge heavier fabrics.

Not heavy duty

No where close to “heavy duty”. Has a tough time piercing 3 layers of canvas at start up. Jams frequently, locks up often in reverse too. Canvas slips on feet. Bought because it said heavy duty but I’m returning because it is not.

printing 66 page Mulit-language manual - wasteful

just got this machine yesterday as a late birthday present from my kids, they have been out of stock due to covid. Just getting is set up and my big complaint is having to download the manual- I understand that you want to cut down on the unnecessary waste of paper, however I had to print off the manual in 3 languages, even though I only need the english version. so I printed off 66 pages of the manual, only 31 was of any use to me, and in actuality only half of those pages had anything on them, bottom half of page is blank; Left me with 35 pages to throw away! waste of my paper and printer ink ! not so impressive..... Also the "dust" cover included is rather cheap fabric.....
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought a 4432 and never did get the tension mechanism to work right. I kept it for almost 2 months, kept trying to get things to work. I think I gave it a fair shot.

not easy to adjust to the use of the product - all my previous machine has been Singer however the most important part to me is the self stringing of the needle and that not very eases to use either - stilling trying to adjust not easy

I was super excited to receive this machine. But after several use, my needles broke (6x). I purchased a refurbished 44S before and figure i have another machine in case my 44S needed a tune up. And that failed. Im returning this machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
