Had it now for 2 weeks and all is well. The first one lasted about 3 years sewing embroidery patches on leather vest and jackets and on denim clothing. Only thing that could be better; I wish the foot would lift higher for thickness of patches and leather to fit easier

The presser foot can lift to about 5/8 inch, by lifting the presser foot lifter higher, in order to give extra space for placement of thicker fabric or multiple layers of material under the presser foot more easily. The presser foot will not stay in the higher position without the lifter being held in the uppermost position. Also be aware that if you sew on multiple layers that are too thick and it raises the presser foot too high, the top tension will be disengaged and the machine will not make a proper stitch (may jam machine). Heavy duty machine with great features

I sew professionally and was looking for a heavy duty reliable machine with basic options. Happy to find this Singer. Also, visual appearance is very important for me, so I really love this classic minimalistic design.

Dear Singer, I was very disappointed to find that the machine had been put together badly. A screw was loose in the box and I found where it belonged by the loose piece above the needle. On the right side by the wheel, a piece was not put into the slot, and sticks out. Please address these issues

Great machine for someone who is starting out. I was a little confused because I couldn't find any directions in the box but I just looked up a tutorial on YouTube and was good to go. One thing I had trouble with was using the automatic needle threader but the thread I was using may have been too thick for the eye of the needle so I just threaded it by hand.

The buttonholes is plastic. And the machine does not come with a manual, which is ridiculous. You can get the manual on the internet, and download it, but what if the new owner doesn’t have a computer? Other than that, I like the machine.
