Bought this as a replacement for an older Singer that finally stopped working. I especially bought it to sew on jeans as it was advertised as a Heavy Duty Machine. It is no better then the older one, would not sew over the jean side seam and would not sew over the waistband to repair a tear, broke two needles and gave up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was given my Singer HD4432 a year ago. I have been sewing for more than 68 years. My first sewing machine was a Singer 15 with no numbers on the stitch length, no numbers on the tension, and no reverse.
I find that I need to clean out the lint much more often and it is very difficult to do. I have very small hands and even with the correct screw driver it is very difficult to do. I shouldn't have to take it apart to clean it.

This machine sews through mid weight denim with ease! My other old machine broke trying to sew through it. I should have just bought this one first. Also the stitching around rounded corners is easier to sew and looks better on this. People tried to upsell me and im glad I didn't listen and this one did the job and got the machine at huge sale price too.
I love my 4432!!! I had this machine 2 years ago & i gave it to my son who designs also. I can't tell ypu how much i missed having my own so I bought a brand new one for myself! It's easy to use, it's powerful and i recommend her to anyone either beginner or expert!!
Great machine for someone who is starting out. I was a little confused because I couldn't find any directions in the box but I just looked up a tutorial on YouTube and was good to go. One thing I had trouble with was using the automatic needle threader but the thread I was using may have been too thick for the eye of the needle so I just threaded it by hand.
Bought this for mother's day. My mom absolutely loves it. Nice machine, easy to set up.

Thank you so much for the 5 stars and for taking the time to write your review of the Singer Heavy Duty model 4432 sewing machine. So glad your Mother is enjoying her new machine.
Had it now for 2 weeks and all is well. The first one lasted about 3 years sewing embroidery patches on leather vest and jackets and on denim clothing. Only thing that could be better; I wish the foot would lift higher for thickness of patches and leather to fit easier
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for sharing your 5 star review of the Singer Heavy Duty model 4432 sewing machine with us and your experience with other shoppers. We greatly appreciate it. The presser foot can lift to about 5/8 inch, by lifting the presser foot lifter higher, in order to give extra space for placement of thicker fabric or multiple layers of material under the presser foot more easily. The presser foot will not stay in the higher position without the lifter being held in the uppermost position. Also be aware that if you sew on multiple layers that are too thick and it raises the presser foot too high, the top tension will be disengaged and the machine will not make a proper stitch (may jam machine). I hope this information will be of assistance to you.
