Needle is not adjust properly. The *thing* is not even able to sew strait. Never had a Singer product of so poor quality. Something that should have take 30 minutes took 3 hours and it's still not good. A big zero. Worst is that I bough it in March 2017 so I can't return it. Always try it asap won't forget it next time.
This is a great all purpose sewing machine. It is fast, efficient, and easy to use. It has all the basic features that you need for sewing for a family. I have used it every day since I bought it and couldn't be more pleased with it.
I have a small strap and harness business. I sew 6 days a week and sometimes 7 dePending on orders. I sell around the world. I run 3 machines. They were all Brothers. I bought a new one Dec. 2014. It just started having problems so with the quality of Brother machines going in the toilet, I decided to give Singer a shot. Let me tell you, this 4432 is a great machine. Had some small issues out of the box. I think it got shook up in transit but I worked them all out within the hour. As some other folks, The auto needle thread device doesn't work well for me. Two reasons - I'm left handed and this and all others are built for righties. The second is the braided and bonded nylon thread I use is too thick for that little hook to grab easily. Absolutely no problem for me. This unit really streaks along. I tried sewing double thickness nylon webbing. I had to make one adjustment on the upper tension and that was it. This thing flies and sews great. I really recommend this.
I am still just learning to sew but this machine makes it so easy. I love the dial for the different patterns. Heavy duty. If I have any questions, I just go to youtube and watch the videos.
I had such high hope for this machine. I've had it less than a month. I have tried everything suggested in the instruction manual for jamming thread, but nothing corrects it. I have no idea where the clunking sound is coming from. There is no authorized Singer repair in Oklahoma, and I have a deadline to make. It is "mechanical" but there are no places to add oil for this "mechanical" sewing machine. The machine is fairly easy to use. It would be a good value if it worked properly.
I bought a 4432 and never did get the tension mechanism to work right. I kept it for almost 2 months, kept trying to get things to work. I think I gave it a fair shot.
