This is a nice, big piece. It's hard to gauge what you're going to get when shopping online. I was a little leary that the 2 compartments would be big enough but they are. I think my husband had a little bit of an issue with the instructions. He said they make you do unnecessary steps. But all in all it's a really nice piece. Unfortunately this was my second piece as FedEx damaged the first. However, I contacted the seller (Ansom) and they responded immediately. They didn't have replacement parts for the essential pieces that were broken so they shipped an entire new hamper. Talk about customer service!
I have used this to store dog kibble for about a month now. The bins are a little bit small to store a bag of food, so I just dump the kibble in. It stores about 25lbs in each easily -- no sign of buckling or strain with the weight. I replaced the handles with some higher end pulls. This is a great looking alternative to other pet food storage options that are often unsightly and I can't hide away in my small home.
Putting this shelf together took HOURS, beware of the pictures in the instructions. Things had to be facing a certain way, or I wasn't paying attention and didn't realize I had to do something different for L vs. R (my own fault), so I had to undo and redo several steps. This was the most frustrating piece of furniture I've ever had to put together, but fortunately I'm very satisfied with the result. The material is very sturdy and looks really nice.
Took just over an hour to complete. I used an electric drill rather than a screwdriver and L key (came with the set). The building process was straightforward. Turned out well. I'm happy with my purchase.
I'm using this for my two dogs to hold their food. I agree with the others and will be swapping the handles out for something more sturdy. It did take quite a long time to assemble but if you go slowly it is not that difficult.
