Don't follow the directions to put it together.

It works for my space, but there was damage to the product. The worst was a large scratch across the middle of the top. The dented edges and corner are not as noticeable. It only took about 5 minutes to put together, but had to do it in step 1, step 3, step 2. We struggled unsuccessfully for 10 minutes trying to do it step 1, 2, 3. Put the legs on the shelf first and then attach the legs to the top. There is no way the shelf will go on once the legs are attached to the top. If I had more time, I'd try to send it back because of the damage. Structurally, it's good and I'm just using it for a TV stand in a spare room so I'm going to keep it.
