Great way to cook!

It boils water very quickly! I was not aware that the stove typically hums. It is just something that induction stoves do. On the lower levels, it is silent, but at level 7 - 10 it will hum. The instructions say that heavy cast iron pans do not make as much noise. I am using copper non-stick pans, that are induction rated. Some copper pans are not induction rated.

Got this for my wife to replace an older 36" Whirlpool Electric Cooktop, near last item on our farmhouse kitchen remodel. Install was ridiculously easy except that it was 2 cm over my previous cutout, but can't complain about that - quick grind down.When done, worked beautifully. I was hesitant to write a review until we really put it through testing with our summer/fall canning. Pickles are done, did a slow pasteurize process at 180-185 degrees using range of 6 on the slider and leaving it. That level of ease is important to me, coil electric is too unreliable and we don't have gas here. Lesson learned - old school canning pots may not have the "smooth" surface you thought they did before you tried... not the fault of the stove manufacturer.The surface doesn't get hot... Placing paper towels UNDER a pan of cooking bacon with no heat mark is so odd, but it works so well.All in all, it is a DEFINITE BUY!

Very nice cooktop, Sooo easy to clean, instant heat adjustment , the 50 amp breaker that we used had 4 breaker switches. We were having some quirky problems with the controls. Turned out that 1 of the 4 breakers kicked. Since that discovery the cooktop has been flawless. Having owned it more than 2 years now. Nice quality product at a reasonable price.

INDUCTION COOKTOP

THIS WAS BOUGHT AFTER RESEARCHING COOK-TOPS AND RANGES FOR OVER A YEAR. I LOOKED AT HOME CENTERS, UPSCALE KITCHEN STORES, AND EVERY PLACE ON-LINE. I WENT BACK AND FOURTH BETWEEN A COOK-TOP AND REGULAR RANGE, BECAUSE I AM PRACTICAL AND HAVE A HARD TIME JUSTIFYING SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY ON ITEMS JUST BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE MY DREAM KITCHEN. I SURE MY HUSBAND WAS READY TO STRANGLE ME DURING THIS PROCESS OF REDOING OUR KITCHEN. I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I RECEIVED THIS COOK-TOP. IT IS ELEGANT AND BEAUTIFUL WITH A BONUS OF 36" SO BOTH OF US CAN USE A SIDE WITHOUT FIGHTING FOR SPACE. INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING ARE NOT GOOD, BUT PLAYING WITH IT DOES NOT HURT IT. HINT, MAKE SURE A MAGNETIC STICKS TO THE BOTTOM OF YOUR POT OR THE TOP WILL NOT TURN ON! DON'T BELIEVE THE POT AND PAN MAKERS, TAKE A MAGNETIC WHEN YOU SHOP ALSO IT IS AMAZING THE LIES TOLD. WE HAVE BEEN USING THE TOP FOR 8 MONTHS NOW AND WE LOVE IT. IT'S FAST LIKE GAS BUT SAFER THAN ANY COOKING ITEM I HAVE EVER SEEN. THE PRICE IS SO WONDERFUL, THAT WE ALSO ORDER THE WALL OVEN. THAT IS NOT INSTALLED YET, BUT I EXPECT GREATNESS FROM IT ALSO. I LOVE, LOVE LOVE THIS COOK-TOP AND WOULD GIVE IT A 10 OUT OF 5 STARS IF POSSIBLE. HOPEFULLY I WILL STILL FEEL THIS WAY IN 5 YEARS.
