After being a smooth top electric user for over 15 yrs now, cleaning isn't as easy of course! I'm happy with the way it looks, am enjoying using a gas cooktop again and only have one complaint. They should get rid of the decal that misleads you on how to adjust the cooking level. In actuality, you need to turn the dial back towards the direction of Off to lower it from the highest setting. This is why many people complain there is hardly any difference between high & low. The cooktop looks beautiful, cooks great and is definitely worth the bargain price I bought it for!

Nice for the Price

Installed this on a Saturday afternoon. Some of the instructions are a bit confusing. They appear to have been translated into English by a person not entirely familiar with American English or even the Queen's English. If one is familiar with working with gas appliances, it is not an issue. If you're not, and you plan on doing this yourself, take some time to check out some of the tutorials on gas stove installation available on the internet before starting.
Stove comes with fittings for both LPG and natural gas as well as a spare set of jets. The brackets included to secure the top to the counter may not work for you. They didn't for me. My counter is too thick and had to make my own brackets.
Overall, it is well constructed even though it isn't as sturdy out of the box as something like a Bosch. Once it is installed, that slightly flimsy impression goes away.
I didn't have to adjust the new pressure regulator (included) after installation. It was set appropriately for my setup. You will need to provide gas rated PTFE tape to seal the connections. This is YELLOW Teflon tape. Don't use white Teflon tape. Check your seals with soapy water to ensure you have no leaks.
This replaced a GE Profile gas cook top. So far, I've prepared two meals using this cook top. I'm very pleased with its performance. The large burner in the center handled my wok and I was able to whip up a stir fry easily.
Other users have complained about difficulty getting the stove to ignite. Remember when you first assemble, and turn on the gas, there is air in the internal lines in the stove. Open the valves on all burners until you smell gas to purge the air from the system. Vent the room and then try and start. Mine fired right up.

Great price for a great cooktop!

I was looking to upgrade to a gas cooktop once my electric cooktop needed to be replaced. I was skeptical as the price was so much less than the more recognized brands. However, the reviews were mostly good and the product was at least engineered in the USA. I was able to install the product myself. The only hiccups I ran into on the install was using the gas lines that were not being used. I have been very happy with the cooktop and it works every bit as good as my family and friend's more expensive ones. I highly recommend this product.

Empava 5 burner gas stovetop. See addendum

Just installed the Empava stovetop. It’s beautiful. As long as you have good wrenches and some plumbing know how, it’s easy to put in. Buy the kit with fittings and new hose. I used pipe dope but the yellow Teflon tape works fine. Do not over tighten.The igniter takes about 2 seconds, same as my old stovetop. I sealed the edges with clear silicone to keep it clean. The large middle burner is perfect for my wok cookingTime will tell, but I’m really happy with it and an easy DIY project.So much cheaper than the brand names and no one but me knows it’s not a fortuneGo for it! Make sure you check for leaks with soap solution!Addendum. Removed one star as the stainless steel has scratched in normal use and cleaning. Hairline scratches but I know they are there

Burner Placement is Wrong

I like my new gas cooktop way better than my old electric and this one was pretty simple to install. The directions for installation are sparse as are directions as to burner placement. And speaking of placement these burners are backwards. The medium burner is way in the back left of the stove with two small ones up front. The small ones are for warming and maintaining a long heat and should be in the rear of the stove while the medium should be up front as it will be the one you use the most. Besides those issue it works great and looks good.
