Bought this Typhur Instant read thermometer for a Christmas present for my husband. As it turned out, I was the first one to use it, cooking dinner last night. Impressive! I have used a Thermopop instant read for years. It takes a few seconds to turn on, and several seconds to read. The Typhur, turns on instantly. It reads instantly. It’s my new go-to. Love it!

Got this probe for Christmas and was instantly blown away. A great gift for anyone who cooks meat. The marketing is really slick, but the thing you don't realize until it's in your hand is that 10hz refresh rate lets you easily “hunt around” for the coolest spot in the food in realtime. With other thermometers, you end up checking a only handful of spots while you wait for the reading to slowly coast to accurate. So you're never really confident if you're just too close to a bone or something. I can find -with absolute confidence- the coolest spot in the food in less time than waiting for that first reading from my old thermometer. Great build quality too. My only tiny critique is to have the magnet be a bit stronger or have the surface over the magnet be grippy. Since many surfaces in kitchens these days are weakly magnetic stainless alloys, the magnet is of limited use for me. But for real; in love with this product enough to go out of my way to write this review unprompted!

It works for both left and right handed persons as the display flips for the correct viewing.
