It's fast as described but the price point is a bit steep. The tip of the probe is not covered when in the closed position so it gets snagged when putting in or removing from a pocket.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to use. Still testing its accuracy as to whether I’m letting food cook a little too long or if the readings are high. Check back in a month or two.

Pros: Very fast to get the temperature. Easy to read. Magnets to stick it on the fridge or magnetic surface so it's not in a drawer.
Cons: The probe when folded is still exposed so it gets caught if you put the probe in a apron pocket or another pocket.
Still I bought one for me and two more for my daughters.

I’ve never used any type of probe or thermometer when grilling, and to no one’s surprise, it was uncommon to over cook things. I decided to try Typhur and it has made such a big difference, again should be no surprise. I love it and it’s nice to actually have juicy steaks for a change.

Perfect in quality. Used for making cultured yogurt and hopefully many other things. I’m glad I waited and only bought one thermometer. It is outstanding! Worth the money.
