Must have for all household!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is a must have for every family household, especially if you like to buy in bulk to save money. Being able to portion out your bulk protein to freeze and help keep it fresher longer is a very good reason to get this vacuum seal. What the point in buying in bulk and the food goes bad before you can even consume it. That not really saving. Not only do we use it to seal and freeze but we also seal other type of food for the fridge or seal other things like bags of chip. One other function we use this sealer for is to seal and Sous Vide (cooking method). We prep our protein with all the seasoning & marinade and then seal it so that it can lock in the flavor while it is cooking. We’ve been using an older FoodSaver vacuum sealer (FM200 model) for years and this is an upgrade. We use it so often that it never gets put away. Just like the previous model, it easy to use. The cool thing about this model is that it has a slot to store your FoodSaver roll which makes it convenient. Just pull the roll out to sealer section and seal one end 1st (using SEAL button). Now pull roll out to desire length and then cut it using the build in cutter. Place whatever you want seal in that bag and then place the open end back on the sealer section. Now use the VAC button to vacuum out all the air and seal in that freshness.

FoodSaver Vs2150 Vacuum Sealing System

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is by far the coolest FoodSaver I've ever had and it's so easy to use. Something I really like about this food saver is the roll cutter on the lid. One of the features that this food saver has that I'm really excited about is that it has the east lock latch a one-handed operation secures the bag for vacuum sealing. I also think it's really cool that it has a built-in bagged alignments it ensures correct bag placement for a proper seal. This thing even has a seal button that seals rolls to the correct custom size bags. This vacuum sealer it's for sure a game changer and I highly recommend it.

Bye Bye Freezer Burn!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The perfect addition to any multi-person home that fits right next to the microwave. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were helpful too. Now, I can go grocery shopping and take everything that goes into the freezer out of its bulky packaging. It saves A TON of space in the freezer.

Not Vaccuuming Air

I bought this recently and it is not vacuuming ANY air out, whether I use the Moist mode or the Dry mode. I’ve tried it on steaks, cookies, some marinating but all it’s doing is sealing the bag.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please find below a few suggestions which could help you with the mentioned issue:
1. Check the upper and lower gaskets of the machine. If either of these is damaged or dirty, the unit will not vacuum properly. Clean any food materials from the gaskets. Remove the lower gasket, flip it over, reinsert it into the unit and test the unit.
2. Make sure the open end of the bag is resting entirely inside of the Vacuum Channel. The edge of the bag should not go beyond the Vacuum Channel. Do not make your own side seams for a FoodSaver Bag. They are manufactured with special side seams sealed all the way to the outer edge.
3. Check the bag for leaks. Seal the bag with some air in it. Submerge it in water and apply pressure. Bubbles indicate a leak. If the bag has a leak, a new bag is needed.
4. We recommend you pre-freeze meats and other moist foods for 1-2 hours before vacuum sealing. Excess liquids from moist foods can cause the unit not to vacuum and permanent damage can occur.

We have had at least 5 foodsaver units through the years. This is the cheapest made of them all. We need the jar sealer to work but after having difficulties called the company. They said you have to push the clip and hold, that would require three hands if you are used to holding the jar sealer and jar. He said we needed to buy the new jar sealer kit which did not make any sense at all as their tube will not stay attached to their machine and has nothing to do with the jar sealer attachment. If you are looking for a unit to seal jars, look for something else.

Works great!

Works Great! Had a very old model that you had to hold down for years from a yard sale. This does everything including vacuum sealing mason jars, I believe I had to order the attachment for that, can’t remember. No bells and whistles to break, just straight forward. Like that the tray comes out for washing.

This is the first time of purchasing a vacuum sealer. I thought I would like to try the FoodSaver. It has been around many years and figured it was reputable company. Luckily my unit I purchased had a 5 year warranty. When it came time to use it, it was great. After about 30 uses it went from working on a vacuum to starting another vacuum (after about a minute in between) it quit working. The panel wouldn't light up and nothing worked. DEAD! I called customer service and the unit was still under warranty. I was shipped another sealer. Now with the new unit (replacement sealer) I was in the middle of doing my garden canning/freezing and all of a sudden from one vacuum to the next, it quit vacuuming. UGH! Notified customer service, again (still under warranty, 2 units in 1 year). I had to wait approximately 2 weeks and this one will be here in a couple of days. So we'll see how this unit does. In the meantime, I purchased a different brand dehydrator because I was at a stand still with my gardening. Maybe these models are not intended for use other than a vacuum here and there. Such as heavy use in one day like preserving fruits and veggies.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
