Making fried foods healthier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] George Foreman - Twist 'N Crisp Air Fryer is awesome! Getting it out of the box and setting it up was easy. I didn't even need the directions because it is intuitive. This one came with a rotisserie attachment and there are other attachments that can be purchased separately. All of them come with a barrel drum. This makes it unlike any other air fryer I have seen. With the drum rotating the whole time there is no need to open the fryer up half way through to stir or flip the food. Everything comes out cooked evenly. I have made french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and kale chips. They all came out crisp and tasty. The fryer also came with a recipe booklet, which is very helpful for first time users. There are even ideas for dessert recipes. I will be using this frequently. I received a free product in exchange for my review

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has to be one of the best kitchen gadgets I've added to my collection. The first thing that I cooked in this air fryer was bacon. I've never had bacon cooked so perfectly, and it tasted healthier because it wasn't cooking in the fat.
My one and only complaint is that it isn't bigger. I wish I was able to cook larger amounts at a time, because I have a bigger family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive never had an airfryer before so i have nothing to compare this too and i guess thats a good thing because this one wouldve knocked the other ome out of the park. This airfryer is easy to use, easy to clean up, and doesnt take up as much counter space as i thought it would. I wish it came with more attachments so i couldve tried them all. However it does come with a rotisserie attachment which was great and so easy to use. As you will see in the photos i have taken. I would recommened anyone who doesnt like to fry food in a pot with grease everytime to use this and also anyone who is trying to cut back and loose some weight. The chicken i made came out so juicy and was cooked all the way through. And it only took 45 minutes. Press 4 buttons and froget about it almost like the crockpot. I really enjoyed using this product and i am so happy that i have it so i am able to cook in an alternative way and provide my family a healthier way of eating.

Wanted to like it, but not for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try the George Foreman Twist 'N Crisp Air Fryer. I had visions of making healthy versions of my favorite fried foods such as French Fries, Onion Rings, Chips, and Won Tons. Unfortunately, after an attempt to make tortilla chips, I was left less enthused. I used one of the recipes that came with the included recipe book and while the amount of oil used was very little and the flavor was very good, my chips were not crispy but rather soft and chewy. There were some crispy edges, but nowhere near the "chip" crispiness I was expecting. I followed the prep and cooking directions exactly but what I ended up with seemed more like stale baked tortilla wedges. Perhaps a longer cook time would have increased the crispiness and if I try this recipe again I will definitely let it cook longer than instructed.
When initially trying to figure out what to make, I looked through the included materials (instruction manual and recipe book) for inspiration and was disappointed that many of the recipes required attachments that did not come with this particular model (such as the baking sheet or sandwich tray). I was also very surprised at how long the cook times were for many of the items. Many of the recipes called for longer times for the Air Fryer than I would normally use in the oven or toaster oven. I was really hoping for a kitchen tool that would help speed up cook times and simplify the cooking process.
With the limited drum and rotisserie attachments, I didn't find a lot of other recipes I wanted to make. Eventually I may try cooking frozen French Fries or Potato Chips, but the amount of time it would take to make these in the Air Fryer seems to be not worth it especially if it isn't going to be fully crispy. I am now also hesitant to cook anything raw (such as a rotisserie chicken) in the Air Fryer since the instructed cook time for the tortilla chips seemed so off - I would hate to have undercooked chicken due to cook time inaccuracy or to keep having to adjust the time until its done.
This definitely has the potential to be a great kitchen device - but personally it didn't live up to the hype for me. It is much too large for me to leave on the counter in my small kitchen and I can't see myself using it on a regular basis - especially without a baking rack. There are limited foods that can be made in the drum/on the rotisserie and I would prefer not to have to play around with cook times to try and get the crispiness I expected. I can see this being a great addition to some kitchens, but definitely not all. If you are interested in Air Fryers - this one definitely has some great features but I just can't see myself using it that often. I would definitely suggest doing your research and seeing how much use you'll get out of the Air Fryer (and how many calories you'll save) before purchasing one.
For people who are in a similar situation to myself - busy people with smaller kitchens and a small number of people they are cooking for - I feel this device is too large/bulky and inefficient to be beneficial. It doesn't save on cook time and it takes up valuable counter space. It's also hard to gauge when exactly the food is done. However, for people with larger families and larger kitchens who tend to make a lot of the items the Air Fryer can handle with ease, this may be a helpful device that can help them to cut back on the calories. Especially if they are able to get other attachments that allows the machine to be more versatile.

I really wanted to like this but

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this but in the end it was pretty disappointing. I've had an air fryer before that just did the air fry function. I was looking forward to this one because it can grill, air fry, bake, and do a rotisserie. Except of course, you can't really do bake or grill without the extra attachments, which oh right, you can't buy separately anywhere online. So I tried air fry and rotisserie functions and I was equally disappointed with both.
The thing that drew my attention to this air fryer was that it had a rotating drum, I thought this was perfect because we did a lot of fries in our air fryer and remembering to flip them was so annoying and messy. Here, the basket flips but it takes forever to get crispy for some reason. We're talking like forty minutes on 425 for a half full basket of fries kind of forever.
So I tried the rotisserie function. It says you can do up to a five pound chicken, I picked one at 4.5 pounds. However, nowhere in the recipe book or the manual does it give any indication what the per pound rotisserie time needs to be or what temperature it should be. In fact, the recipe book doesn't even tell you to use the rotisserie function for a (3 to 3.5 pound) chicken, but tells you to airfry it instead. So I have a meat thermometer and I figured I'd wing it. Took about 2 hours to finally get the inside of the bird cooked and the skin was completely burnt and even with it in a brine overnight, it was bone dry. An absolute disappointment.
The design of the machine itself looks aesthetically pleasing but be careful if you have it on a free standing island, because trying to get the basket of fries out I foolishly opened the lid (I know! The horror!) And the thing nearly tipped over once the basket was out. A ton of heat comes out of this thing so I can't put it on my oven because of an over the range microwave. So now I need the buddy system just to work an air fryer.
This doesn't even get me started on how to use the basket or rotisserie, you have to maneuver it into an opening on the back of the fryer, which is impossible to see and difficult to manage without singing a few hairs.
All in all, I think this is trying to do too much and ends up being able to do nothing great at all. It's a disappointment and I'll be using my old air fryer from now on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been wanting to get an air fryer after I seen the hype of them, so I am glad that I got this one. It is fantastic to use for many different things. I have made a whole chicken in it and it turned out amazing, moist and the skin was crispy. Very easy to use, easy to clean, comes with a recipe booklet, everything you need to get started. The baking rack is a nice addition and I can't wait to make even more food in this air fryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted to try out an air fryer and i was delighted when the opportunity came. I thought it was more of a toptable oven, but no it does more. This equipment not only fries, bakes but it grills and roasts . It is easy to set up and a simple manual that makes operation easier. Its got a nice digital display for selecting different settings.I baked some nuggets and they came out as tastier as my regular oven. My next project would be to bake a cake in it. My model is GHFD6820 and it only came with the drum and rack, other models will include other accessories i guess. Also included is a recipe book which is a plus.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this Air Fryer has 4 different modes to cook food, however for two you need to buy the accessories for. The air fryer mode I thought worked okay. The food cooked in this mode did not cook evenly sometimes, so I had to cook it longer to achieve the doneness level that I liked. It crisps food really nice though when it’s done and there is no level of grease because the fat drips away in the tray. The rotisserie mode of the fryer is excellent. My chicken comes out very good. It cooks one shot through every time, plus its fun to see it rotate through the see through windows. I can set my food in there & not have to watch over it which frees me up to make side dishes for the main course. I love the ease and simplicity of this machine to use.
