Crisp and Easy to Clean but Lacking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to test out the George Forman Twist N' Crisp Premium Air Fryer. I sat down and read the manual to make sure I didn't set my house on fire and so I knew exactly what to set up correctly. After unboxing, I cleaned the removable pieces and was ready to air fry away! Unfortunately you will need to buy additional pieces for a lot of the air frying, grilling and baking you intend to do unless you are solely going to use the baking rack, air frying drum or bowl by itself. That was disappointing because you will have to track all of the additional pieces down if you want to make rotisserie a chicken or kabobs!
The air frying and set up was simple. I like that there are 2 latches on top of the drum to secure the food in place as the drum is rotating. There are small knobs that fit in place on both sides along with the larger driver shaft in the back. Changing the temperature and what feature you are going to use was simple with the icons that would illuminate. We decided to try out cheese curds first. We used a little less time than the fry setting and they came out great. I like the drum because it fried them evenly which was nice. I did have to stop the machine once to look at the food because it was hard to see inside from the side panels. The steam/air does come out of the back so you need to make sure you have enough clearance because it can get rather hot. I wouldn't recommend this on a small counter space. When opening the machine ,which is easy to do with a push of a button, make sure you also make space to take out the drum with pot holders. I would say that is another reason why I didn't give more stars. Unlike common other air fryers there is no handle to pull the food out right away. It makes sense because of the nice rotating factor but can be cumbersome depending on what you are making.
Overall I liked it but didn't love it. I think if it came with more I would give it more stars. Cleaning was easy with a quick swipe of a damp dish cloth and dish soap. You can use a dishwasher on the removable parts but we prefer to do things by hand. I think if you want to still fry something or even bake or grill with less oil than this would be good for you. You would have to know though, that yes it is easy to use if you have the time, right accessories and patience. This isn't as quick as regular frying but you help your heart with less grease so it's a matter of what you see as a win-win.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so in love with this device. Cooking in this fryer is so much easier than I thought it would be and so much healthier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never used an air fryer before and was slightly confused and intimidated before trying the George Foreman Twist 'N Crisp Air Fryer, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use! The controls are very simple and it's very much like using an oven, but you get results more like that of a deep fryer (without all the extra fat!) I like that the drum inside rotates, so you don't have to worry about flipping or turning your food during cooking. It really helps to ensure even crispness on all sides. There's also a tiny rack included as well for foods that cannot go in the drum. I'm a little sad that you cannot buy the rotisserie attachments for this model as well because it just won't attach to the inside, but you can still fit an entire chicken in this model too, it would just need to sit on the rack instead. I do love that this air fryer doesn't take up much space and can do many things that your oven can and doesn't add any extra heat to your home! Much like your oven though, some foods do take a while to cook. Overall, I like the idea of this machine. I think I would be good for snacks and side dishes perhaps, but I think the inside of the machine is a little on the small side for a family of 4.

Wanted to like it, but not for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try the George Foreman Twist 'N Crisp Air Fryer. I had visions of making healthy versions of my favorite fried foods such as French Fries, Onion Rings, Chips, and Won Tons. Unfortunately, after an attempt to make tortilla chips, I was left less enthused. I used one of the recipes that came with the included recipe book and while the amount of oil used was very little and the flavor was very good, my chips were not crispy but rather soft and chewy. There were some crispy edges, but nowhere near the "chip" crispiness I was expecting. I followed the prep and cooking directions exactly but what I ended up with seemed more like stale baked tortilla wedges. Perhaps a longer cook time would have increased the crispiness and if I try this recipe again I will definitely let it cook longer than instructed. When initially trying to figure out what to make, I looked through the included materials (instruction manual and recipe book) for inspiration and was disappointed that many of the recipes required attachments that did not come with this particular model (such as the baking sheet or sandwich tray). I was also very surprised at how long the cook times were for many of the items. Many of the recipes called for longer times for the Air Fryer than I would normally use in the oven or toaster oven. I was really hoping for a kitchen tool that would help speed up cook times and simplify the cooking process. With the limited drum and rotisserie attachments, I didn't find a lot of other recipes I wanted to make. Eventually I may try cooking frozen French Fries or Potato Chips, but the amount of time it would take to make these in the Air Fryer seems to be not worth it especially if it isn't going to be fully crispy. I am now also hesitant to cook anything raw (such as a rotisserie chicken) in the Air Fryer since the instructed cook time for the tortilla chips seemed so off - I would hate to have undercooked chicken due to cook time inaccuracy or to keep having to adjust the time until its done. This definitely has the potential to be a great kitchen device - but personally it didn't live up to the hype for me. It is much too large for me to leave on the counter in my small kitchen and I can't see myself using it on a regular basis - especially without a baking rack. There are limited foods that can be made in the drum/on the rotisserie and I would prefer not to have to play around with cook times to try and get the crispiness I expected. I can see this being a great addition to some kitchens, but definitely not all. If you are interested in Air Fryers - this one definitely has some great features but I just can't see myself using it that often. I would definitely suggest doing your research and seeing how much use you'll get out of the Air Fryer (and how many calories you'll save) before purchasing one. For people who are in a similar situation to myself - busy people with smaller kitchens and a small number of people they are cooking for - I feel this device is too large/bulky and inefficient to be beneficial. It doesn't save on cook time and it takes up valuable counter space. It's also hard to gauge when exactly the food is done. However, for people with larger families and larger kitchens who tend to make a lot of the items the Air Fryer can handle with ease, this may be a helpful device that can help them to cut back on the calories. Especially if they are able to get other attachments that allows the machine to be more versatile.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never dreamed that I would use this air fryer for so many things. I purchased it for my husband for his birthday to silence his relentless pleading for a deep fryer. At first, I think he was disappointed it was NOT a deep fryer, but now I cannot tell you how often he uses this. We have used it to make the perfect buffalo chicken wings (fresh ones!), french fries, pork chops, and countless other things. It is so simple to use and we get perfect results every time, not to mention in a fraction of the cooking time and all without heating up a whole oven. No waiting for preheating because this thing heats up so quickly. I've even used it to heat up leftover pizza with the result being a nice crispy version of the original texture instead of that soggy crust you get if you microwave leftover pizza. This thing is worth every penny we paid for it and it was a nice touch receiving a thank you note via email from the company that makes it. They even checked with me a week or so after purchase to see if I had any questions or concerns. If you decide to get this, get the one with the rack included, we use it constantly and it elevates your cooking options. Well worth the difference in price. It's included with the digital version of the machine. One word of caution....if you leave this out on your counter, do not drag it across the counter top!!! It has little rubber feet that level it and the suction from dragging it removed one of them. They don't just pop back in, we had to take the machine apart to replace the little rubber foot. No worries though, it still performs perfectly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Versatile and useful. I am in love with the compact simple cooking. The hassles of constantly changing oil and the associated health issues made me curious about frying with air. So it really doesn't fry, it's a high heat convection oven cleverly marketed as a healthy fryer. But it works! The rotating basket I believe is key as I've made French fries in the oven for years on a baking pan. The rotating action does the trick. Definitely a different taste, but I really like it. Doubles as an oven of sorts as well as a rotisserie. Easy to clean up and priced right as well. Very happy with it - and would highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another great product from George Forman. This air- fryer is the best. It’s just the right size. I made a chicken it was so moist and crispy. I made fries and Mozzarella sticks for my Grandchildren they were crispy not soggy. I can’t wait to make other recipes.
