The RT-AX5400 is a quality router with the flexibility to provide effective mesh coverage for your home. Other great built in features include free VPN (Instant Guard), DDNS, and AI. The Asus router app makes implementation fairly easy if you have some networking skills. I would suggest making implementation even easier if possible. Overall I very nice router with many features that can help secure your network including your other devices on your network (especially your cell phone).

Left another brand that I had been using for a long time. This router is inexpensive but powerful. Has features I will probably never use. It is easy to set up. Including a second floor bonus room, it covers a 2500 sqft house with ease. Asus provides security features that other brands require subscriptions and monthly charges.

We bought this router to replace a 10 year old Linksys router with weak security. It works great and speed is close to 100% of our plans stated speed. So far the range is great. It works everywhere in our 2000 square foot house as well as our backyard. Installation was pretty simple and the app is very useful to monitor and control the router. The only downside for us was my 10 year old Dell laptop running windows 10 is unable to connect to the new wifi. Support was discontinued due to security issues. We are very happy with the Asus router and highly recommend it.

Excellent router especially for those using a vpn

Great router with lots of features and options I did not have on my previous router. The app is outstanding and while many options I will not be using, the ability to control external devices internet ability, are great for those with children. For those not tech savvy, the app does all the work
The ability to add my vpn without having in invest in an expensive wrt (which is what this router is replacing), is the primary reason I purchased. While setup for this router is handled effortlessly via app, I did need to contact my vpn provider for help to setup. The router does comes with surfshark pre-installed. I especially like that I can select which device I want to receive my vpn.
