Nice speakers plagued with connection issues

Speakers sound nice for the size. I have these speakers connected via hdmi arc to my tv. I also have a pc and mac connected to the tv as well. There is an issue where I will turn on the tv and pc and there is no sound. I have to unplug the cord and wait for the speakers to power back up to start working again. I looked the issue up online and apparently it is a known issue that other people are experiencing. It is very annoying since this is a daily issue for me.

These are great powered speakers. Very easy to use with Hdmi arc function (even if our tv can act strange connected like this). Great medium, dynamic and overall a nice presentation, not a wide stereo scene or depht as real hifi but very convincing around a TV and they can play loud ! BUT, there is a big BUT. If you want to add a subwoofer which is recommended especially for movies, they implemented a very unique and strange behaviour !! Whenever a subwoofer is plugged in - not even a sub actually just the rca cable ! - a crossover is activated and cuts all the bass frequencies !! So they are in satellites mode and you lose all the fun out of them ! Forcing the sub to go very high like 100hz and none do that well ! It is very strange indeed as usually with powered speakers its a feature, an option but not at all the normal way !! Especially when it doesn't work so well. You have to search yourself for the good cut frequency on your sub and leave you the choice to have your sub well integrated ! Here you can't and the crossover is very very violent, cuts everything under 100hz. It's not fun at all, even on the back when you plug the rca cable and hear very very distinctly in 1 second that bass have totally disappeared ! Hopefully the app will change that but when will it be ? I wrote to the support about this and waiting for the answer and will be happy to change my evaluation with a solution

Legendary Klipsch audio ! Versatile connectivity options. Horn tweeters are very clear and delightful - not harsh at all even when played loud. Bass is unbelievable for this woofer size, people who say that they might need a subwoofer must be bass fanatics - I Love my bass too and dropped Bose and Sonos on account of this. I still had to tone down the bass in my EQ settings :) At low volumes, for relaxed listening these sound gorgeous with fanatastic clarity - sparkling !
Pros: Bass ridiculously strong for a 4.5 inch woofer, Control dials are welcome and look gorgeous!, Top notch connectivity Options, Unbelievable clarity !
Cons: Bass Tuning options missing, Streaming from apps missing, The Threes have it!

I have many klipsch products, Cornwall IV's, RP-8000F II's, RP-F6000 II's, 2 pair of The SIXES as well as many subs. I just purchased a pair of The FIVES. I couldn't be more impressed with these little bombshells. 5 STARS !!!

Not loud enough

I connected this set to my living room tv, was hyped because I could get a great set of speakers without a separate receiver. When setting them up, the switch to set the primary speaker as left/right broke off. Then I discovered that the wire connecting to the other speaker was shorter than I would have liked. After getting them set, I started listening and liked the way they sound. But when I tried to turn the volume up past around 80% I would get loud pops, which I assume is a built in limiter of some kind kicking in?? Bottom line, a great set of speakers if you don't expect them to play very loud.
Pros: All in one solution, Attractive, Simple to setup
Cons: Not loud enough

Boy I sure was looking forward to getting these speakers from the legendary Klipsch….. but they were disappointing. Remote control worked less than 30 % of the time. Sound was tinny and vague. Disappointing enough that I never tried the app or wireless connectivity. Just boxed them back up and sending back tomorrow.

I'm having trouble using the 5s built in pre-amp. Written instructions little help. Online instructions say to use "line" option on switch. I do that, get nothing, no sound at all. (Turntable has no preamp.) When I switch to "phono," however, i get full sound (even if i expected to be a tad fuller), even though instructions on Klipsch clearly say use phono switch only for external preamp. What am I missing? thanks
