Hard to install

Didn’t tried the performance of the system yet but I just can mention the poor design, very hard to install. Anchors hard to locate for drilling the cabinet, electrical outlet on the top, not easy to manage you need to drill another hole in the cabinet. The electrical outlet cannot be changed for the back of the hood. They have provided a hole however, but it is not removable because there are rivets that prevent it from being done. Too bad. I had to install an electrical outlet behind the furniture, which was not practical…
Also, for the 6" air outlet, there are fins with very cheap rubber stops that tore when inserting the metal pipe which cut them. I had to replace them with screws.
The size of the main hole of 6 inches recommended by the manufacturer is not good, it must be lengthened to be able to insert the hood and slide it into the fixings in the correct position. The screws provided are not suitable for furniture made of chipboard (like Ikea). Again I had to change them for bolts and nuts for more strength but above all for safety. It is also necessary to adapt so that the anchors of the hood are not facing the fixings of the furniture. In short, very complicated to install. I do not recommend it for people who do not know how to DIY...

replaced GE microwave slash vent hood with this. It went in with the direct rear vent with only slight modification on the existing duct. Cooked kimchi pork and tacos So far very happy with the hood.

I bought the Hauslane PS-18 and had it installed. I cooked broccoli for dinner that night and you could not smell the broccoli in the bedrooms nor could I smell it in the living room. This product is amazing. I only had the fan on low to get the odor out of the house. I wish I had purchased this long ago. It is quieter on high than the old fan on low and still eliminates the odor.

Love our new vent system for our cooktop. It is efficient and takes care of heat/smoke with ease. The lighting system is also very bright. Love that it has a low/high feature. It works great. Would recommend this vent.
