Solid Range Hood

This range hood works really well removing smoke and smells, and I like the included self-cleaning feature. The edge suction of this unit is really helpful as we primarily cook with the front burners and very little steam/smoke escapes while the fan is running. Cleaning the unit needs to happen regularly and that can take a bit of time to wipe down all the grease, but overall it is a good unit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Moves a lot of air, but...

Overall, the UC-PS38 is a well-designed and aesthetically pleasing rangehood. It moves a lot of air and provides good lighting on the cooking surface. However, considering the high price of this unit, there is some annoying operational behavior:
1. You can’t just turn the light on. You have to power-on the unit to turn the light on. That is not user friendly.
2. The clock is only a 12-hour clock, but there is no am/pm indicator. That’s not a big deal, but it always displays the leading zero for the hour. For example, 7:15 (am or pm) is represented as “07:15”. What 12-hour clock displays the leading zero? It is annoying as is the blinking colon. There is no option for a 24-hour clock, so why display the leading zero?

This vent hood works well to get smells and cooking smoke out of the house quickly. It is quiet on lower speeds, and is easy to clean with the parts that come with it

Bought this 2-1/2 years ago, best thing range hood ever. Really sucks all the smoke and grease right off the stove top. Very easy to clean as well. Well made commercial quality materials.
