All stainless, minimalist, and quiet; great!

I bought the PS38 unit about a month ago and installed it myself. On the lowest fan setting, it’s quite quiet at about 60dba, and on the max setting, it’s about 75dba (loud). The lights are bright and it’s convenient that they’re standard bulbs. I haven’t tested the self-cleaning yet but it seems straight forward to use. One downside I don’t like is the dinging sound for button press feedback but it’s not a deal breaker. During installation though, I will say the 2x back screws are very hard to reach. I ended up using 2x extensions and a long bit, and had to tape the screw to the bit as I had no room to hold the long screw. A strong magnetic bit could work too.
Overall, the PS38 looks great and modern with all the stainless but still subtle and minimalistic at the same, and at a reasonable price!

Becarefull of a backsplash

The PS38 is a great range hood which has outstanding suction, however there is one problem when it comes to installation and having a backsplash. If you have 12" depth cabinets with no backsplash, then this perfect and you can use the water tray for self-cleaning. If you already have a backsplash tile or slab, (2cm or 2cm) that would be behind it, then the front mounts will be beyond the cabinet. If you decide to mount the hood range prior and then add a backsplash up to the bottom of the oil tray, then you will not be able to use the water tray for self-cleaning and the oil tray will be difficult to get out. For example, I install this unit prior to having a backsplash and I am a 3 cm Quartz slab installed as a backsplash. I can't take the unit down and install the quartz behind it because no mounting hole in the front. The only thing I can do is have the quarts installed just under the oil try, but I now can't use the water tray and the oil tray will be difficult to slide out. It would be great if Hauslane made some kind of adapter for least the water tray to be used up to a 3 cm backsplash. Other than that, awesome hood.

Fantastic product except for…

Bought this range hood 2.5 years ago and absolutely love love love this product. However that said, the plastic water tray for cleaning is junk. It has cracked so bad that it is unusable. Now this is kept in a cupboard with no ther products in its box. Just plain cheap plastic until you need to replace it, then it is silver lined. Beautiful range hood except for this one issue. Maybe use a higher grade of plastic or sheet metal? Would last forever then and I could upgrade to 5 stars!

We've been using this range hood since our remodeling a few years ago and are very happy with it. It's slick design fits perfectly with our new kitchen. It has powerful suction and yet still reasonably quiet. It's easy to clean, an important feature for home range hoods! 👍😀 I definitely recommend it!

Just installed it, so time will tell how it works.
It was surprisingly heavy (which I guess speaks to the quality components) but there was no paper template with holes so you can tell where it will line up... that would have been appreciated. Holding that sucker in place to mark the holes is no easy task.
It also has an on/off button but I don't know what for... it can be "on" with all the lights & fans off, so... what is "on" exactly?
Oh, and the incessant beeping... my goodness. No way to turn it that off, apparently.
But the fans are quiet, and with six speeds that's even better.

Absolutely love this fan! It works great and is so quiet on the low settings which are great for most every day cooking situations. As an unexpected bonus we use on high settings to air out the whole house quickly with a few windows open. The lights are great as well and provide excellent visibility. The installation guide was helpful - the biggest challenge was cutting a new hole in our cabinets but the included template made that process as easy as possible.
