Hauslane UC-PS38 - Workhorse

Great hood. Truly a workhorse, has dramatically changed how we cook. Steam function works pretty well too, although we still wipe down the fans.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall ok, dead light after two months of occasional use

I would give it three stars because of the light/bulb problem. One of thme is dead after two months - we used it occasionally only.

I am really unhappy with the product finish. After we installed, I get the feeling its more suited for a commercial kitchen then for in-home.
I also wish you make note to install plastic covers to protect the stainless steel surface. My installer had some difficulty installing the hood between the cabinets and that resulted in a lot of scratches to the surface.

Everything is good but even though it has a self-cleaning function, it is difficult to take the parts apart to do the cleaning. The hinges are to small and difficult to align. The clock didn't work and hard to set. The instruction manual is not detail enough to follow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have not installed it yet, however, prior to purchase in review of the product it said that this hood came with two different configuration. One with circular duct and an adapter for rectangular duct. The one I received did not come with rectangular adapter and it cost me great pain to find a reducer to fit from 6" circular from the hood to 10" X 3 1/4" rectangular.

Solid Craftsmanship

Well built and designed unit. It is easy to use. Awesome suction takes smoke and odors out of the kitchen. I strongly recommend this unit if you do a lot of cooking at home. Also, the self cleaning feature works very well.

This hood fit into the opening better than the first one I tried

I must point out this hood replaced the horrible GE microwave/exhaust hood that came with our new home. The GE didn't microwave well or exhaust the cooking fumes from our gas range. This flaw resulted in our smoke alarm going off frequently which was quite loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!
