I was debating Hauslane with other brands such as Robam or Fotile. This is a great purchase! It looks slick and functions very well. The price is half of what other brands charge for. We are happy with our purchase and the suction power is well enough for wok frying. Highly recommend!

Humming noise when light is on

I must say I like the looks of the hood but when the lights are on it makes a humming noise, very frustrating. Also the clock has a zero before the first number, kind of weird and the colin is flashing like you should be setting the clock to the correct time
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The range hood works fine. It isn't great for heavy cooking (i.e. asian stir fry). But gets the job done for about 80% of the cases.

Works - loud fan / clumsy install process

The draw of air from the range is as described, great, but it is quite loud no question. You are not talking to someone very far away when they are in another room - not at all.
IMPORTANT DIY NOTE: The installation is very clumsy because of poor engineering. This unit should have a wall bracket! It installs from below, so you need to feed the screws into the cupboard above from below by feeding them through the entire unit around all the fans, wires, vents etc. (about 8 inches). If your cupboard has ANY space between the front face of cupboards BEFORE the bottom panel of the cupboards, you'll need to screw support boards into the bottom of the cupboard with screws from INSIDE the from the top into the bottom of the cupboard so the unit has some wood for the included install screws have something to bite into until they reach the cupboard, otherwise you'll have the 6 screws biting about 1/4" of wood in the cupboard to hold the entire unit up - no way that will work. It was a good thing we knew how to overcome these challenges and had saws and tools and more wood to work create a frame for the hood to screw into or it would have been a disaster DIY project.

After researching range hoods in our price range, we opted for this one and have not been disappointed. It is as powerful as we needed for our commercial range. It is extremely quiet on the 3 lower settings and does not overcome the room with noise on the high setting. Keeps the air quality in our small home fresh and clear. Prior to installation, we would cook with the windows open to prevent the dinner bell (smoke detector) from going off. Why not a 5 star rating? Wish it had a timer and wish you could have the lights on without turning the entire range hood on.
