Recently I moved from my Keurig Classic as primary brewer to the K-Elite when the gasket on the first failed and I needed a maker IMMEDIATELY! I cannot allow another day pass before I share this information with others contemplating the purchase of the K-Elite. I am SO FRUSTRATED by the fact that the K-Elite will allow me to "brew" a cup even though there is not the correct amount of water in the reservoir and the product of the brew will be incomplete and undesirable. Not so with the Classic which will not allow the process to begin without proper water amounts in the reservoir. I guess I was spoiled.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like Brewer, Not Like Hot Water Feature

I'm coming from a B70 Platinum I bought about 10 yrs ago. Time for an upgrade. The Biggest improvement that I can see is the ability to put in a pod and push brew (brew size) on a cold machine that you just turned on and walk away. It will keep your selection in memory and brew your cup of coffee after it has heated up. The B70, I would have to stand or sit and wait about a minute for it to heat up after turning the brewer on before it would allow me to push brew (now I can walk away).
The "Hot Water" button... one of the reasons I bought this brewer. My wife is a tea drinker and I thought she would like the instant hot water. Well, not so. There is no dedicated hot water output that bypasses the pod. You will have to go through the same steps that I did with my B70 brewer, remove the used pod push brew size and here comes your cup of hot water. You will notice I did not mention the "Hot Water" button during this process, it's not needed and adds and extra step. If your sure nobody left their pod in the brewer then just push the hot water and the size buttons and here comes your hot water. Not any quieter than my B70, a little different sound but, not quieter. Brew time is slightly faster.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Reservoir lid isn’t hinged?!?

What a pain. Not only did they stop putting touchscreens on their brewers, they stopped putting hinges on the reservoir lids. I gave it two stars because it’s actually fairly quiet when it brews. Currently looking for alternative brands with the features people actually want.

I miss the light the other one had, it made it easier for me to see the fill line. I am short, the other one had the selections more toward the front, this one has them on top and it's harder for me to see them. And, even on the strong option, the coffee isn't as strong as the other pot made it. Otherwise I like it.

Premium price, base model.

We bought this coffee maker about two months ago. It does what it is intended for, but still just not impressed with it. The name "K-Elite" is very misleading. With a name like that you'd think that your getting the best of the best. Not so with this model. We have a 2.0 with the touch screen display, ambient lighting, a reservoir that is clear so you can see how much water is in the tank, 24hr time format, and night light. But we started having problems with having to hold down the brew button. Plus we had it for 4 or 5yrs, and wanted something new. This model has temperature setting, a bigger tank, 12oz. setting, and ice coffee setting (which we will probably never used). If your wanting to upgrade, you may want to look elsewhere. If this is Keurig's "ELITE" (best of the best) we won't be buying another one.
