Not as easy to install and I am a techie

Got this to have with my TCL 3 series. Had a Sony before. Did optical. HDMI..because it wouldn't pair easily with the subwoofer..nor could I get anything to work and it's not my first time having a soundbar and woofer. TV and even Alexa can't find it. Almost returned but since I'm stubborn no. Finally downloaded the TCL HOME app for firmware update. One hour later was done and used the app to connect and select input etc. Adjust treble down and bass up. Great you have different settings preset for sound. Like sports etc. If lucky like I was before, plug and good to go. Sound! One bedroom apartment and living room. PRETTY GOOD!

Excellent soundbar for a low budget price

Purchased the TCL 2.1 soundbar for our new 65 inch Sony Bravia. The TCL soundbar and subwoofer is perfect for our 12×13 ft living room. This soundbar and matching subwoofer is the right amount of theatre like sound for the space. Everything needed to instantly turn a luving room into a theatre comes in the package including HDMI arc cable, remote control and subwoofer. Set up is easy and the sound is amazing. TCL really provides you with lots of bang for your buck at a low affordable price. The quality of the subwoofer and soundbar if you didn't know better is that of others costing 3 or 4 times the price of the TCL 2.1.

Works Well

Pairs very easily with TCL Roku TV unlike the Bose product I tried first which would not allow TV remote to control volume of their soundbar. Bestbuy site implied I needed an HDMI cable, yet there was one in the box.

To be super honest, it is far better than my Sony which I bought it for more than $600. We just love the crisp sound and deep bass! Best investment for our basement gym.

Working Well But Disappointing to Set Up

I bought this sound bar TCL S55H 220-Watt 2.1 Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer to go with my also newly purchased TCL 55S450R-CA TV. I did everything possible and more to connect using HDMI but would not work. Messages kept coming up saying to connect to HDMI eARC. System settings on the TV even showed that as HDMI 4. The TV itself only has 3 HDMI ports with HDMI 3 being eARC. Between the TV and the Soundbar, there is literally a disconnect with software where I wouldn't work no matter what settings I tried or changes. The other TCL TV and Sounbar combo I have (different models) was super easy to set up and use in comparison. I am not King of the techies but know my way around enough that I do know what I am doing. In the end, I had to go with using an optical cable set up. The overall performance of the sound bar is excellent but from those challenges, the one Roku TV remote doesn't control everything. For the lack of compatibility to its own brand, I have to give a 3 star rating.

Bluetooth would not connect to subwoofer just after 2 months. Never had TLC product before, but after this I would never touch this brand again.

Not very loud and sounds pretty meh.

Your tv would have to have terrible sound for this to be a worthwhile upgrade. Sub does add a little thump but the overall volume is not loud enough and none of the sound enhancements do anything.

Great Soundbar for $130.

I get it... It's $130 bucks how good is it really? Amazing for $130. Even if it were $300, I'd be fine with it. Will it blow you away? Nope. Will it fill the room with great sound? Yup. I've had a few sound bar set ups. 5.1 too. This competes with them. The only negative is voice. It can be hard to hear words sometimes at super low volumes. Small gripe.
