I've had 2 of these for 5 years now, 3rd one for 2 years, all through Best Buy. Super solid reliable monitor. And considering how old they are the quality of image, 1440p, is still great choice today. Good for gaming or watching videos. I highly recommend this model...

TLDR, I currently have the VG279QL1A which is basically this EXACT monitor but 1080p. I figured id get this one on sale and try it out and upgrade to 1440p.
BUT the monitor has TERRIBLE back light bleed, specifically in the bottom right corner. If you move out perfect position the bottom right corner glows like you got punched in the eye. ALSO it has very very bad blur when under heavy motion, which I experienced while playing multiple games. No matter the settings I couldnt get it to be smooth. Upon research I found these monitors are notorious for both of these issues and its basically the luck of the draw you take when buying a lower end monitor.
Whats weird is, like I said I currently have the basically identical monitor just 1080p, and it looks amazing. No backlight bleed, it has IPS glow but nothing noticeable in very black scenarios. So I might take it back and see if I can get one without a backlight bleed/glow thats so noticeable, but from what I seen online its not going to get any better.
If your going to spend the money get a newer technology monitor for a bit more money, not this one that came out in 2019

The screen keeps flickering

The device has significant performance issues, including difficulty displaying images and frequent screen flickering. I often need to switch it on and off to restore functionality. While the stylish design is a positive aspect, it doesn't compensate for the lack of reliability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked great for a year, aside from the dead pixel I dealt with. Then some green lines show up at the bottom of the screen and block the hot bar, dealt with that too because I could still see the rest of the picture. Now I’ve got the complete opposite can’t see anything except for a small row about 1/4 inch on the top of the screen. Not worth the price tag. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy, buy a different brand and save the hassle.

Pretty good starter monitor

Bought this product not too long ago, and it has been serving great! Only complaint about the product is it isnt that loud; have to wear a headset if i want sound.

I bought this monitor on October 2020 and it's still amazing. I have had zero problems.
It receives heavy use for gaming on XBSX and before that on my XB1X.
You can't go wrong with Asus.
I would recommend this to a friend!
