Don’t use it for brown noise

I have gone thru 3 JBL speakers in my life and the flip 6 is the absolute worst. I use my speaker to play brown noise while I sleep and only within the last week it’s been shutting off way before it’s time to wake up and it wakes me up every time. Turned off the sound it plays when you turn it off and on and the absence of noise wakes me up. I updated the software thru the app and last night was the last straw for this jbl speaker.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our JBL Flip 6. Its published playtime is up to 12 hours. As we turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. To check it, try charging it to 100% and playing music at a low volume with the bass turned off. If it lasts close to the advertised playtime, your battery is in great health. Otherwise, it is losing its capacity. We invite you to contact our customer support for further assistance.

I accidently put the waterproofing to the test and to say it passed with flying colors. Somehow my speaker ended up in a wash cycle, I thought it would never work again, but load and behold it power up with zero issues and still working to this day. would definitely buy this speaker again.

Hi JBL,I recently bought a JBL Flip 6 Martin garrix edition..this thing is really really great.Great for parties,great for outdoor use,great for everything.The Martin Garrix design is really beautiful and it stands out between the crowd of all other portable Bluetooth speakers.I really love it and I wouldn't waste money on another brand again. No Audio Signal for Low Battery

I have been a JBL fan for years. I have the ANC 770s, the Flip 4, and the Flip 6. Fair warning, the JBL Flip 6 DOES NOT have an audio signal for a low battery. The speaker will just die and turn its self off while you are listening to your music. This kills the battery life and makes the speaker significantly less portable. I should not have to keep my speaker plugged in while I am using it to ensure that it won't die. There should be an audio signal so I can plug it in for charging, and continue to listen. Instead of the speaker just randomly dying with zero audio warning. The sound quality is always good, and it's a good speaker otherwise. Externally durable. Though, disappointed that my gift's battery life will be affected. My speaker used to play 4-6 hours on 75% volume, now it can hardly do 2-3 hours on half volume.

Our JBL Flip 6 emits an audible sound notification (a distinct descending chime or tone) when its battery is running low. In addition to the sound, the LED indicator near the charging port will start flashing a pulsing red light to visually warn you that it's time to plug it in before it powers down. On the other hand, it has a playtime of up to 12 hours which may be reduced when you turn up the volume, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages and all batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. Please charge the speaker to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, please contact our customer support for further assistance.

Volume Concern

I’m a little disappointed in this flip 6 speaker. We use it outside when we’re in the pool and it seems we are always having to raise the volume up. I’m not sure what the issue could be though. Does it decrease the volume when it starts getting hot? We downloaded the app and we’re glad you can adjust the bass, etc.
