Aside from reading all the bad reviews I’d like to say I’ve had my machine for 2 years now and have not had anything issues! Works great for what I need. I like that its super light weight. Honestly I definitely like this sowing machine

What?? "Jam Resistant" bobbin??

This SM1400 - the bobbin regularly jams and comes unthreaded. Almost impossible to sew at all.

The box clearly states that it has quilting stitches (shell tuck stitch and free motion stitch), however, it does not come with the instructions to do so, the free motion foot is not included with the machine, and there is no way to drop the feed dogs. I bought this machine because it stated on the box that it had free motion stitching. I am disappointed and will now have to buy another machine.

Buyer beware. I received this as a Christmas gift. It does not work. It may sew a 2 inch stitch before messing up. The buttonhole was one single stitch. Not a rectangle. Good luck getting a button through that. Nothing but frustration. I had a private sewing lesson and the instructor confirmed I received a broken machine. Waiting now to see if Brother will honor the one year warranty.
